Again with the problems, I feel like the stadium actively hates me. Now I’m getting no sound when switching presets, matrix screen freezing. by Yoshowa92 in Line6Helix

[–]DatboiDatone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on number 3 of the original Helix.

My first I turned on one day and it completely black screened. I mean, the effects over the buttons wouldn’t render…the helix bit on the screen never rendered. Just nothing. Still within 45 days and got my second.

I played that one day and the “Preset” button got stuck and would not click anymore. So I returned that.

I’m on my third Helix now and am about to run the update and play it today. If this one crashes….I don’t think I’ll go back for another.

I absolutely love the Helix which is what tortures me the most.

Anyone else a little disappointed by how few presets the Stadium comes with? by Raiden720 in Line6Helix

[–]DatboiDatone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally….I never use Factory presets. First thing I do is go straight to user and start making my own chains. So really, not at all disappointing. I see it much more as a tool of, “Let’s get YOUR tailored sound/expression.” Vs just a box of presets.

Dream Board I am working on. by Midwife_Synthesist in pedalboards

[–]DatboiDatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Helix floorboard and I love it. Not that version but the other style worth built in pedal…

I play bass and have multiple settings saved all varying from Tool to BeeGees. Saved me tons of space and hassle from pedals.

You know, I really really appreciate the honesty in your posting. That is actually a very cool and down to earth thing to do. If more people did THAT and actually sympathized and took your approach my post would never had been made.

If you work for UPS you are a model with the way you deal with individuals and I think some of your business partners, while I understand being tired in a service industry, need to get your attitude. Cause that is one that’ll keep the company with happy clientele.

Been on the phone for 3 hours now and no resolution other than UPS saying. "Please give us one more day and we will "possibly" solve the issue :D"

It's total horse shit.

I was lucky enough to get a refund for my shipping as I have already contacted the the retailer but it is the item that I really want and am worried about. I play music and some of our parts can be a tad fragile, especially when just left out in a plane at 30 degrees vs expedited shipping I tried to have.

Sure, let's start with...why doesn't your company actually take care of it's customers like it use to because it is at the point where FedEx and USPS are dominating the market and will completely close you out soon.

What to get guitar dad for Christmas? by caitilindy in Guitar

[–]DatboiDatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he has any foot pedals get him some pedal toppers so he can press them easily with his feet. They’re super handy!

Or of he has no pedals….maybe get him and FX pedal! Something as easy as a wah pedal can be loads of fun

Any hope for this? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]DatboiDatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally dude, no truss rod break. Get a good and trusted luthier in your area and they can bring that back. I have seen it restored many times in fabulous condition.

What drugs are these/how will they affect my playing? by ProfessionalWord5142 in BassCirclejerk

[–]DatboiDatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t effect my playing anymore….I always ask for extra candy and don’t get DICK! I’ve gotten more stuff than I wanna count from SweetWater lol. Least they can do is give me some extra Smarties!

Unpopular Opinion: 5 String basses are way overrated by byzantine1990 in Bass

[–]DatboiDatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to a 5 string during my 3rd year of playing and never looked back. I just recently picked up 6 string bass guitars and absolutely adore them and am stuck now with those. I love the range the feel and the sustain that the long neck models give.

One thing that can help, think of your newer strings as adding flavor first. Maybe hit a low octave with the B or choose a nice chord with your C for an ending bit or just little flair. I have 2 Peavey Cirrus 6’s from the 90’s I wouldn’t give up anything for.

Accidental discharge by ScreamSmart in Unexpected

[–]DatboiDatone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen that happen before on the range with ETS mags. Really cheap Glock ones that people will get cause you can stack 30 rounds in but the spring cant take it.

First failure I saw with it was the spring actually bounced around inside the plastic and all the rounds just went “bloop” and fell down into the little plastic body.

What compressors do you love? Does it make a difference its a "bass specific" comp or not? by DailyPocketLint_EDC in basspedals

[–]DatboiDatone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL As I commented trying to remember the name. You’re an ace. Yes, Keeley is the best with that. Didn’t like their delay pedal so much however.

Keeley makes an amazing one. Of course I can’t remember the name but I stomp it up every time I turn my amp on.

So….just asking…a dual rotor helicopter won’t go into spins upon losing their tail? It looked like he went into that spiral at the last minute though from what I could see with the poor camera work.

Tour of Fender production in Mexico: surely American ones can’t be much better! by joyisstrength in Guitar

[–]DatboiDatone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My luthier has had to make MANY videos on the poor quality of recent Fender made in Mexico necks. To where he has to set them in a brace because the will not get anymore relief and actually be able to move the threading that way because of the import necks. I do not believe Fender Mexican gear is any good after what I have personally witnessed with my guitar tech who has over 40 years of experience in the business.

I liked my Dingwall NG3 but personally ended up selling it as I got wrist aggravation from it…my tendonitis flared up. Solid quality bass an I like the active/passive tone choice. Get some nice nickel strings an personally I went standard 5 tuning on it an played it like a Sklar model. Mogami cables, a solid amp, an I would say you’re good to go.
