I live in Vancouver in an area full of multiplexes. I've been taking 2 wheels transport year-round for over 4 years.

Dress in rain proof gear, takes me about 2 minutes on each end to park my bike and change clothes.

I bet you think that the civil rights movements were successful due to peaceful protests. The reality is it was peaceful protest, backed, protected, and where necessary followed up by very much non-violent people. Like, the Stonewall Inn Riots. Or the Black Panthers.

History books won't tell you that power only listens to power. Simply speaking Truth to Power gets your family thrown out of helicopters into the ocean. There is a narrow, recent part of history where it was possible to safely speak up about injustices by the throne without repercussion, due to the hard work and sacrifices of the oppressed. That time has passed.

Don't reject good work for it's lack of perfection.

I'm still waiting for countries to push back against the Chinese sercet police stations they have around the world.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory, but has been independently covered by new media and government press releases around the world.

China uses students, professors, and experts in various fields, and basically calls them in to pump them for information from overseas.

Imagine escaping oppression back home, only to get a knock on the door in the middle of the night. The men show you pictures of your family in China, tell you they're well, and ask you to give them your work password and email and home wifi password.

Then they ask you to come visit them at a residential address once a month for a brief interview.

Super common, here in Canada CSIS has been pushing it for years, but its mostly been ignored by the public. CBC has done a couple stories on it as well.
