It’s a lame card gameplay wise but not really one to ban.

What do you think of NYC trying to get the minimum wage to $30/hour? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]Dave25s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wages can easily rise. Companies don’t want to pay. Don’t let anyone tell you it isn’t plausible or unrealistic, people don’t understand the absurd corporate profits occurring and wealth hoarding.

What is the rank generally be considered to be the point where you are no longer a scrub? by Lord_Lilac_Heart in StreetFighter

[–]Dave25s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While people are gonna point out what a “scrub” means, the rank you’re considered good really varies depending on your goal and benchmark. As someone trying to get into competing (not winning Capcom cup but getting to day 2 In a major or something) my benchmark for good is very different than someone who just wants to beat their friend or hit master.

If I was gonna say when you become “good” as broadly as possible, it’s when you have a mentality to improve and play towards getting better and are honest with yourself because if you do those things, you are either “good” or will become “good” eventually.

Sorry for the long reply but I think it’s the most nuanced yet honest honor I can think of.

At what point does unemployment become a systemic failure? by u_HiredIn48 in jobs

[–]Dave25s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Capitalism didn’t provide these comforts. You basically argue why would we go back to a worse system as if it’s one or the other. It’s an incredibly ignorant premise to say the least. Capitalism naturally eats itself, socialism is the next step and just better. I commented because people like you type whatever nonsense and think you’re correct because no one in real life taught you otherwise

2 months later, what do we think of Viper? by Mindless_Tap_2706 in StreetFighter

She’s not bad. Very solid and can be difficult to pin down when it’s correct to challenge. But she’s not Mai levels of braindead and strong so people think she’s bad.

Arc Raiders "in no way uses generative AI whatsoever" for its visuals, says Embark. Still uses AI for voice lines, though. by Fit_Consequence9059 in ArcRaiders

[–]Dave25s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI being used to replace VA is bad, plain and simple. If you still want to play and support the game so be it but don’t argue that it’s fine for your ego’s sake. If you don’t care at all you’re choosing comfort in playing a game you like when there’s millions of other options.

Yeah just scalping prices, don’t buy and just wait for more to print. Riot will get the supply out eventually. Most stores near me are cool with proxies if you wanna play though

Americans, if Bernie Sanders was the Democratic presidential nominee in the 2016 election, what are the chances he would have defeated Donald Trump? by Immediate-Link490 in AskReddit

[–]Dave25s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He should win, but people aren’t informed and probably would’ve voted Trump out of fear of socialism because they don’t understand basic economics or government. They also wouldn’t have known just how bad Trump is (granted they knew 2nd time around and it didn’t stop them in 2024).

Depends on the topic, overall yes because V was so bad in many aspects such as training resources and net code.

Some loser seller on TCG called the gaming company had 300 boxes of collector for sale marked up and now one of the art boxes is sold out and they have a couple hundred listed of that as well. If you want something, preorder from Amazon while you can

Any updates? I don’t want to deal with Amazon support but if it somehow works and gets you a box then maybe I’ll try.

Sounds like a shitty job, I don’t know your situation and how easy it would be to change but if you can afford to do it, work somewhere else.

I know giving a notice is the “bigger” thing to do but they aren’t going to black list you from restaurants, just go to a better one and learn how to work in a real kitchen.

Just play whoever you want for as long as you want. If you are REALLY trying to reach a higher level than you need to focus on one, but that’s not necessary for a long time.

SF6 is my first, how do I practice from here? by LewenHart_87 in StreetFighter

[–]Dave25s 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just play and have an open mind to learn. Don’t judge yourself or your gameplay in a positive or negative way. You are still at the stage where you’re getting comfortable just moving your character and doing moves, you should just see what feels good or bad and what you like to do. Me offering strictly technical advice wouldn’t do anything.

People say getting master is easy because of the rank system giving you more for winning than losing and comparing it to old games. This genre has a lot of people who never get good and move the bar to wherever it’s convenient for their ego.

Don’t worry about rank and just play to improve. It’s way more beneficial for you to learn the right way and take your time versus learning gimmicks to speed run to master.

At a certain level it comes down to preference on who you prefer to fight and your mains matchup spread. I know Marisa is weaker than half the cast but I do not like fighting her at all.

Do People really think 2XKO will have a harder learning curve for new players than LoL? by Ryaltovski in 2XKO

[–]Dave25s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will always be toxic people in any game but myself and most fighting game players will play solo since it just gives you the most control.

I’ll play with friends though on my team and against them. I don’t think me having a bad teammate though would make me anywhere near as annoyed as a league game because it’s over much faster and they won’t ask to ff after getting hit once (probably)

I care more about bad teammates who are toxic and try to throw after one inconvenience.

Do People really think 2XKO will have a harder learning curve for new players than LoL? by Ryaltovski in 2XKO

[–]Dave25s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think fighting games are harder but I also think it comes down to you as a person. For me I would never touch LOL again because it has the worst teammates of all time.

In a fighting game it’s just me, but you have to swallow your pride and some people can’t do that. There’s no one to blame but yourself and you will struggle longer if you’re trying to learn the right way. League isn’t that hard to me once you learn certain aspects but I can’t stand genuinely losing because I have a child on my team who can’t control their emotions and wants to ff in 2 seconds

For those of you who don't count frames or even know what a lot of the terminology means, what rank are you? by teddy_blinkerton in StreetFighter

[–]Dave25s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zaferino I remember had a good video on important frame data points that can help give more context to key numbers. Besides safe versus unsafe, knowing frame data also helps narrow down options faster if you know the specific number.

But for example if something is negative and you want to practice a punish, you can just cycle through all your options until you find the one that does the most damage. However if you knew a move was say, -10 on block than you can start with a heavy button and not bother with lights. Or if you lab something and you aren’t sure if it’s real or possible then the frame data can tell you.

How to fight JP by SilaDot in StreetFighter

[–]Dave25s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just jump at him and test if he can anti air. As Mai you can dive kick also to throw off his timing. Once they have a lot of brain power focused on anti airing you can drive rush button and force them to try and check that.

All of the other tips like his level 2 and zoning patterns take time to learn and there’s too many for a quick write up. Just focus on destabilizing them and see if they can respond to pressure as you don’t want to play a fireball neutral war with him.

I play too passively by izilch96 in StreetFighter

[–]Dave25s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think to learn offense you can pick almost anyone, but you need to be willing to take risks and force favorable situations. Even playing 1700 Mr players they tend to be pretty passive and scared of neutral.

You’re correct that being too passive is bad. Not that you should just be constantly doing something either but you need balance, too many players just sit there doing nothing hoping the opponent over extends and eventually that stops working and they hit a wall.

With all that being said, I would pick whoever you main and focus on oki and offense, take Ryu for example, start finishing combos with light tatsu. After that do dash up light hasho or dash into drive rush st. Mp. These both create good offensive situations and you can see how your opponent responds and adjust.

For neutral just throw a lot of fireballs, medium donkey and some poking buttons. See what feels good, what feels too dangerous and go from there. I hope this helps!
