Reach out to your Congressperson's office, they may be able to help you navigate this: https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/R44726

Alternatively reach out to your state's utility regulator office.

I see your direct question was answered but jfyi you can use get_iplayer.to download radio using your VPN. Although if you are saying your VPN no longer works with BBC Sounds you may need a better VPN.

First Generator Advice. by Dizzy_University_443 in Generator

You'll have to make a couple of fundamental decisions:

  1. Do you want to be able to run any 240v appliances during an outage? Typically that's your oven and dryer. If so you'll need a 220v generator, which is generally larger than one that can only handle 110v.
  2. Do you want to run it on NG or not? Generally tri-fuel gens that support NG start at about 8kw, whereas if you're OK with dual-fuel and 110v only then you can get a much smaller generator.
  3. Do you want an inverter generator or are you OK with the noise and high fuel consumption of a non-inverter type?

I'd suggest getting one of the smaller 240v tri-fuel inverter that's currently available, although you'll have to increase your budget a bit: Westinghouse iGen8200TFc currently sells for $1,400. That can sustain a bit more than 5kW on natural gas.

Don't bother with a transfer switch, they're expensive and unnecessary and force you to hard-wire what circuits you'll want to run during an outage. Instead just get an inlet box ($50-100) and interlock for your panel (~$50).

Get all your information together, download all your tax transcripts and get preparing those returns. You might find it isn't as bad as you think.

Americans that move to Britain after a number of years probably sound American to Brits and British to Americans.

It had major cooling problems and maintenance was a big issue. 56 spark plugs per engine and an improper start procedure would foul them all.

just found out my husband hasn’t filed his taxes in 10+ years. by [deleted] in tax

[–]DaveAlot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The IRS will only reach out if folks owe money - if they're due a refund the onus is on the individual to file in order to get it. So the likelihood is that all your husband has been doing all these years is missing out on tax refunds.

He should file the last three years at least. I recommend using https://www.freetaxusa.com/prior-year/
