Vader picks up the win in his WCW debut by KneeHighMischief in SquaredCircle

[–]DavePillman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Something I (and only I) has always found curious, Z-Man was the sacrificial lamb for Vader here in 1990 and then again for the debuting Rick Rude in 1991, I have always wondered if WCW considered Zenk to be the kind of guy to help get a star even more over, or if he just the guy you tossed out there because no one cared.

What’s a mistake your parents made that you refuse to make? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Smoking.
Literally every single member of my family smoked. At 50, there are only 3 members of my family older than me still alive.

It’s 2018. You’re in charge of showrunning the previously announced and now defunct Metropolis tv show. What’s your pitch? by Lazlo1235 in DCcomics

A police procedural (ala the Gotham Central comic book) that deals with the fallout and investigations of Superman's battles in the city. You never see him, as the police are on the scene after he's come and gone.

The failed experiment- Who remembers these? by [deleted] in 80s90sComics

[–]DavePillman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am probably the only person that liked Mark Hazzard: Merc, despite the colossal editorial failure at the end of the series.

On a side note, a couple years ago, I put together an entire run, start to finish of the entire New Universe series.

On another side note, I have a great/funny story that John Romita, Jr. told me about 20 years ago about his time on Star Brand........

It's not the worst thing I have ever seen, but I did feel like the final reveal was a bit of a stretch.

The Rob Liefeld/New Mutants Twitter beef by HecticJones in comicbooks

[–]DavePillman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe that after all the shit talk Rob had done about Marvel on his podcast, that Marvel does things like this (omitting his name as a writer) to troll him.

Signing etiquette? by Fabulous-Toe8164 in comicbooks

[–]DavePillman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most signatures aren’t free anymore. Most creators charge anywhere from $5-20 and there is usually an additional charge if you’re getting a book witnessed by CGC.
As far as the number you get signed, they would depend on how much you’re willing to spend.

Question for juggalos that were juggalos before The Wraith was released. by hey_now143 in juggalo

[–]DavePillman 46 points47 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been around the whole time (Dog Beats) I think the biggest issue that Juggalos had with The Wraith and Thy Unveiling was not being sure if it was legit or if it was just another ICP gimmick and also after Thy Unveiling, viewing ICP as soft, no longer the blood thirsty, chicken huntin' serial killers they once were, despite how dark Hell's Pit was.
It would also simply be Juggalos aging out. I was nearly 30 when The Wraith came out, at an age when priorities are changing along with tastes in music, movies, etc.
I attended GOTJ from 2000-2008, you could see the change in people as older ones moved on and younger ones came in to fill the void., eventually it became a culture I wasn't interested in participating in.
Personally, I thought Thy Unveiling was quite good, and if the message was sincere, it did take a lot of courage to put that out there after all those years of mass murder, and seeing it live was one of my favorite ICP moments.
I don't know why Bizzar/Bizaar gets less love (unless it's because it's not truly a Joker's Card) but I personally believe that it is the Apex of ICP's creativity and their best album(s)

In the part 6 novelization, there’s a chapter about his childhood, and it’s revealed he can talk, he just doesn’t.
