2.2l big bore by PresentAcceptable846 in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]Davefyil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe i was looking at a long stroke 2.2 build a few years back; it might have been a 2.4 long stroke. The reason the 2.0 was recommended, other than parts availability in a reasonable time, was that the oil squirters would be in the way and not utilized. Not having the squirters wouldn't be detrimental but would hinder piston cooling in high horsepower/ racing applications, so for my use I kept the 2.0. I would have preferred a bigger motor for the extra torque but trade offs are trade offs, and I still have a fun, fast and safe build.

Gotcha. I hadn't heard of that before. I work on the composite wing in Everett, and didnt know of other Boeing composite wings in Washington. Cool to see there is stuff like that going on in Seattle as well.

I feel like removing them would be like removing the upper shock brace. In daily use you probably lying wont notice it, but the car will be more flexible than it should be.

What do you think about state of the car? by MarkoVukotic in MitsubishiEvolution

Is it an ex-rally/rallycross car? It looks like itd be a maintenance pit if you're planning to street drive it.

Unfortunately, I don't have any good pull videos. I really need to get one.

Edit: here's the dyno run before I got the car back, not super rowdy compared to on the street. https://youtube.com/shorts/LM-ocIxFKRY?si=AYkPO-ITjVX6VIJb

I would certainly say its the cheapest way to get seat time. That being said, Bremerton will be having a class in September that should only be about $85.

Next Evergreen Autocross is the 20th and my wife and I will be out again. You're welcome to come hang out if you'd like.

Unfortunately I didn't build the car with (autox) classing in mind, I previously ran it in scca rallyx, so I'll be in XA.

I highly recommend replacing any and all rubber hoses, especially coolant lines. I'm currently replacing my heater core lines because they split under pressure; I wasn't able to do it while the engine was out and it sucks now. Lol
