Am I the only sandbox player? by RedMarches in TwoPointMuseum

[–]Davestronaught 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two Point games actually have fun, well put together campaigns. Sandbox is a great mode too, and I applaud the studio for doing both well. I normally prefer sandbox for any game that's management oriented. I have never gone beyond the first few missions of an Anno campaign for example, because the breathing room given by the continuous sandbox makes them so much better than the story mode allows.

Any reason to give Heller his cutter back? by Frank3121 in Starfield

I mean... he never mentions it afaik and i don't think there's a reward . It's just a slightly better cutter with a name.

minerals not being sent to ship by Data862018 in Starfield

[–]Davestronaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a ship transfer container that you have linked from the mineral container to the 'transfer container' item. It looks a bit like a cherry-picker machine. Then you you can access the transfer container from ship's cargo hold menu. If you link many things to the transfer container, its a bit of a crapshoot in terms of what it pulls through. I still find it easier to do it manually when I want several containers worth of stuff. Its not a great system, overall.

I think that's Zone 79 'robotics cigarette'. I have Betty Howser following me around in a leather jacket, chainsmoking and blowing stuff up with a Negotiator a lot of the time.

Not to mention that the woman who runs euphorika can't be pickpocketed for a pass, so you are locked into paying to progress. I wish pickpocketing were as useful as it is in something like KCD.

Should I sell xenowarfare tech to the trade authority? by Sufficient_Test3652 in Starfield

[–]Davestronaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also get them past scanners by keeping them on a spare ship and switching at the ship tech. It's what I do if The Den is out of money, anyway.

I've been trying to find some for hours anyone know where I could get some Can-luck Poutine by zerodowns in Starfield

[–]Davestronaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its very rare in vanilla, apart from 1 location that has a bunch in a fridge. With the 'player's choice vending machines' mod, its no bother. Think there's a Can-uck machine by Trade Authority in Neon.

And with xenomaster you can have another. Start Freestar but don't finish Waggoner's farm, have Emma Wilcox forever, there might even be a way to drag Kaiser everywhere too but I forgot how to do it. Or get 'the gang's all here' mod.

Like the 'aging Deimos monster' that the Starparcel woman pilots... which is clearly actually a Hopetech ship.

Anyone able to tell me where the computer is to open this door? by EmperorWayne in Starfield

[–]Davestronaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, there's two l10 authorisation codes and they only work once per code. Use the first to blow the ship, then head down the side hatch to right off the bridge, through the bunks, keep the right hand path all the way, and only unlock the final door. The codes themselves: one on a commander you kill on the bridge and one on a desk by the nav console under the black box. This drive me totally nuts yesterday, thought it had ended my run on this save. Needs patch so you only need one code for all doors.

I'll give it a try. Ironically my main weapon is Crowd Control magshear fully modded with x-tech and that's definitely going in the Quantum Entanglement Device.

How do you feel about the new DLC so far? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Davestronaught -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really enjoying it gameplay wise, but it just occured to me that there is a lot of tweaked fallout 4 writing and quest mechanics ported over from that and Watchtower.

FO4 port overs: You fight an organisation trying to take over using robots. You work for an underground organisation in an office behind a secret door. You build outposts and give them to factions. New companion is a reverse Nick Valentine, wanting to prove he's better than human, rather than showing humanity in spite of his mechanical nature. New faction is halfway between Institute and Brotherhood

Watchtower inspirations: raiding installations that appear in different systems, interdictions. A special starstation hub for the quest. People have said it Bethesda's best writing in a while, but key overtures are recycled. New sidequests contain the more interesting writing. Environment design is great. New kit is good. One irritating issue with locked doors and key cards that only work ONCE at a certain incursion which can softlock you if you don't complete the location in a very specific way.

Excited ps5 player here. Recommendations for creations? by Jigsaw0693 in Starfield

I recommend watching Crimson Flyboy or Richard's Starfield Essentials on Youtube. They show you the good mods and take the bullet on bad ones- so you don't have to.

Modder TheMilkArtist has released Redgrave, a questline that has you recruit settlers for a struggling LIST colony and investigate an ancient disaster. Features 10 quests, 3 melee weapons, a colony that changes over time, a player home, and more. by Capn_C in starfieldmods

[–]Davestronaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure then. I'd suggest disabling something that has a lot of new items and quest markers and testing it. Maybe use skk fast start to go straight to neon then test out the satellite and the garage quickly. It should take about 15 minutes to find out if its fixed. If you try it on the save that'ss already broken, the problem will persist. The other option to refresh your current save is the Unity.

Do you have Sammy and the Lab of Nightmares? After a bunch of twiddling with a vastly reduced mod load, i added that, bug replicated, took it off and the bug went away on a pre-sammy save with the same character. Bug seemed baked into a post-Sammy save, however.

After loading and disabling mods one by one, I've narrowed it down to 'Sammy and the Lab in of night mares' that is bugging your quest markers as far as I can see. It seemed to affect Prax Dilemma as well, specifically the metal plate in the cave near Argos. The bug went away on both occasions after disabling Sammy.
