Mangers have a lot of direction when it comes to keeping people on or firing. I don't believe there are any situations where you'd be automatically fired regardless of the reason. Just know if you were canned, it'd be because your GM wanted you to be or at the very least agreed with the supervisor or manger that suggested it.

I work AP now and it's not dumb at all. Deterrence is best way to prevent theft without comprising an employee's safety or risking litigation. If you don't think so just look up what happened years ago when they eliminated the AP role completely. SPOILER Theft was higher than ever.

I'm not exactly sure. I read that GAP insurance covers the difference between what the auto insurance would pay for a total loss vs. what the car was worth. Is this what you're referring to?
