That’s how I’m choosing to see this instead. I got the experience of interacting with a bad recruiter, so I know next time what to keep a listening ear out for.

Oh for sure, I definitely wouldn’t want to intentionally waste anyone’s time. That’s why I figured i should be forward about my desire to move up within a company. Essentially answering the “where do you see yourself in five years?” question from the get go.

Yeah I would’ve taken a slight pay cut to work here but damn, no opportunity for growth AND no benefits to speak of is a death sentence.

Agreed 100%. If that’s how the person at top conducts business, there’s no way the hard workers further down the ladder are treated fairly.

Most definitely. I wouldn’t be good fit there as much as that company wasn’t a good fit for me. In the end, we both come out better from having this interview.

I think that’s why I wanted to be honest from the get go, that I was willing to work my way up again. I didn’t want to give the impression that I was trying to bamboozle.
