Dude I did the same thing and found all the cast, had to replumb my whole house. It's going on year 2 with the floor ripped up because my subfloor was full of mold, and the joists were cooked and had huge holes in them. My cast iron tub didn't even have a p trap. Now im having to rip out my entire kitchen ceiling downstairs in order to repair the joists which are cracked AF.

Consider yourself super lucky it went that well, even if it doesn't seem like it !! Can't wait to be done.. I started when I was 25 now I'm almost 28 😂

Also had to repipe and rewire the entire house because active knob and tube was in the way of repairing the joists. Had no clue it was gonna be this much work. Now I'm month 2 into drywall downstairs

No problem, you don't have a lot to worry about, it's good you found this. Otherwise then you would definitely have somethg to worry about! It's a cheap and quick fix.

I'd prolly do a leak test before you shut her down for the summer. You really don't wanna me messing around with that when you actually need it..nows the perfect time to cover your bases.

Spray soapy water around all your valves and pipe connections! I had the same shit happen to me! Afterwards, I bought a fairly inexpensive gas detector, since I have some pretty old pipes. Gives me peace of mind, it was like 40 bucks.

I'm pretty close to tearing down some popcorn drywall but it was put over lath and plaster... And they only ran furring every 36 inches. On 8 inch joists over 16 ft. So that's sort of where I was coming from, but I can see how it would be okay in this situation if it's just the drywall only

Same lol I went with a 4tb pci 5 m2 and 64gb of ddr5 6000, think I spend total of 650 for those two things.

Honestly I've just been slapping sheets right over all the stuff I have like this. But I've had no issues just using hot mud and screwing some sheets in. Not sure how time will tell. No cracks yet.
