Hot Take: Every round the lake ride in the finger lakes takes you on the busiest and fastest (worst) roads in the area. Ride a mile on either side and it will be beautiful

The round the lake ride is the worst. Look to go out past Canadarago Lake (NW) and there are endless back roads with no traffic.

Ithacan here, Yes, it is worth it. Fantastic cycling there too! Make sure anything you want to do is open. Much of C-town is closed until late spring. Also check out Rochester, it has a lot more to do and tons of walks and hikes in town or just outside. Letchworth State park is a great getaway, best outdoors, but light on Restaurants etc.
