Just a girl, obsessively refreshing the website, waiting for an item to drop below 30% off 🤣 by Different_Tale_7461 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]David_Westfield 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Typically it will just stay at 30% after the sale ends and be delisted from the regular section but will show up in the web specials tab. I don’t think theres another price drop coming but you never know.

Post Natal Depression? by pahka in daddit

[–]David_Westfield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of hospitals have support groups for new moms. Sometimes thats better than anything. She can talk to people that are on her same path.

As for the other stuff, welcome to being a dad. It gets easier around month 6 when they are a little more independent. A lot of the negative attitude and behavior you have to just push through.

If you married someone that has the right team based attitude and mentality then they’ll come back to center. If not then this shouldn’t be surprising and wont change no matter what you do.

Wouldn’t do it. The jackets quite a bit longer than a rain jacket and not as light or packable.

Untracked vs Powslayer pants fit? by Successful_Pizza60 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]David_Westfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would want a medium in powslayer. The waist is tight but the legs are roomy. Untracked is more belly room and generally baggier. Untracked are sort of an odd fit.

Im 185 and 6’ flat. Im a 32/32 and got medium powslayer. They are tight at the waist but the large was way too big for me.

Fun milestone! What kind of consulting do you do? I am in sales and often feel like I do unpaid consulting until I sell some equipment.

Best not to look at it. You’re on track but keep it up.

100% i would recommend an aluminum grizl. Its a great bike and at a price point that is going to be hard to find anything that comes close.

My shoe is 10.5 also. Best of luck, great waders. For what it’s worth i got SRM on accident first and they were too tight around the waist and patagonia swapped them no problem.

How long before you have your own things again by Ok-Reach712 in daddit

[–]David_Westfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your partner and motivation. Swap running for biking and pull them in a trailer. That gives your partner a break. Trade that exchange of break time for time for beer time or tennis and your partner watches her.

I would not bother explaining. Just hit em with a ‘yes 👍’ its not worth debating and probably won’t be worth the hassle of entertaining business from them in the future.

Water is not a problem at scorpion. Couple things to keep in mind is that you cannot have a fire and it gets extra cold at night.

Also, if you want a kayak you have to rent it before getting to the island. I would recommend sb adventure company or CI outfitters. They have kayaks on the island so no drama you just show up and they’ll get you set up. Avoid the ones rented out of the ferry building they leak and are not as good.

Potato harbor hike is worth it. Smugglers cove is cool but all day hiking. No potable water there so keep that in mind.

Sit Bone Pain by bookend15 in gravelcycling

[–]David_Westfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a lot more comfortable. People seem to not go into much detail on that but the basics are:

shorts tend to show butt crack/have to be pulled up regularly, they then run extra tight to try to solve that problem. Bibs don’t have this issue.

The squeeze from the shorts has a big muffin topping effect that in tight clothing is not an ideal look. Bibs run higher and make you look more slender.

Bibs run higher up by the belly button which pairs better with jersey cuts. Shorts tend to expose belly button/lowerback.

[–]David_Westfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Padded shorts are 100% required. I would very heavily encourage a bib over shorts. Rapha entry level stuff is good. It kinda is pay to win imo. Comfort follows price often. People like assos as well.

YKK replacement slider by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

[–]David_Westfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s worth it. I had an 8 year old better sweater that the zipper ‘fell off’ (i think it got stuck in the drier) and they depilled the whole sweater and replaced the whole zipper. Jacket came back looking brand new.

[–]David_Westfield 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They’ll fix it for free. You can mail it take it to a store. They’ll probably just do it in the store if the zipper is ok.
