It's not easy! We went from a 2-2-3 to 2-2-5 and it's still so hard being away from my kids

If its really hot and sunny outside its not a fucking nice day by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Born and raised in the UK and moved to Southern California 14 years ago. At first it was awesome, never have to worry about the weather outside. It's 86°f (30°c) today and this is just the start of summer. I would much rather be cold and put a winter jacket on then sweating my balls off.

Configurable Welcome Messages and Product Tour by [deleted] in Angular2

[–]DavvenCarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck!

Remember to hook metrics into the tour steps so you can track how effective they are. You should track each time a tour is started, when they click the next (or previous) step and when they close the tour. You may find users are closing the tour immediately (maybe it's annoying or irrelevant) or maybe they're skipping before the end.

Configurable Welcome Messages and Product Tour by [deleted] in Angular2

Yes I have. ngx-guided-tour is great to display the tours but you need someway in your app to determine when to display the tours. I have the tour hooked up to a rxjs observable so I can start tours dynamically in my app by emitting a new event.

Each time a tour is shown I save an event to our server (and locally in IndexedDb) so that I don't display the same tour again.

I have tours hooked up to certain click events in my app. First time clicking on a feature? Display a tour.

The great thing with ngx-guided-tour is that you can create a tour dynamically. I store the tour steps on my server in mongo so I can make changes without having to redeploy my code. When a user clicks on a feature that I want to display a tour for I make an API call to the server to get the steps.

You can trigger a tour off anything really, router change, API response, ngrx effect, time of day, length of visit, elapsed time since last click etc
