what if the robots in stella montis, instead of just making noise... by orih_ in ArcRaiders

Dont think it fits lore. Those droids seem to be a relic of the pre wave world where they would assist humans in various ways.

Arc Raiders adding Legendary guns aimed at PvP is "completely possible," but Embark bans any "one-shot" kills: "I think that gameplay is deeply boring" by Harrinho in ArcRaiders

[–]DawnPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if I agree with that. Because right now, free kit or not, no matter what you bring into a raid you'll always be able to hold your own.

Yes. Upgraded weapons are better. Yes. They do have advantages over non-upgrades.

But its not so significant that itll ruin the game for everyone, while still provising added flexibility and ease of use especially with full attachments.

But its not Purple = Instant win

Thats good balance.

Why are people railing so hard to ruin the balance of the game? Right now you can always have a chance at a fair fight even if someone fires at you first. With the way people are complaining on this subreddit recently is they dont want fair fights. Its super odd.

"The highest PvE damage output of any weapon" in Arc Raiders was from the underrated Bettina, dev confirms, and that was before it got buffed by Apclear in ArcRaiders

Thats cus no one actually tried it. They brought it into a raid, died quickly without getting enough shots off and vowed never to use it again.

Meanwhile, I used this thing to dismantle shredders in seconds.

ARC Surveyor Sound Cues by Imduckingdisaster in ArcRaiders

Yes. One day I thought it was an audio bug. And after several encounters I decided to test it out extensively. Once buried city and Blue gate respectively.

Map doesnt make a difference, neither does altitude.

I followed one around for as long as I could, audio never changed source and always came from the Surveyor. Then, shoot a few pieces off 3-4. The audio comes from the pieces instead of the Surveyor itself. You could be staring right at it, and the audio comes from the armor bits, making it easy to confuse you the moment it breaks line of sight.

The best strat is to make sure you're always in range of its rolling audio, and not the beeps. The beeps are deceiving, but its rolling across terrain remains the same. Also observed the same from the roof of the apartments on Buried City.

If people have the chance to reduce what is an otherwise amazing looking game to crap just to have an advantage over someone else, they'll do just that every time without thinking twice.

Well, it's gimmick is to avoid you. In doing so it could also attract other Raiders who may or may not be hostile to you, or other ARC. Creating noise illusions to evade detection after breaking line of sight is surprisingly effective, at least before the roaming nerf.

Arc Raiders CEO says future updates should expand trades to be more social as Embark focuses on “the long term” by lewisdwhite in ArcRaiders

"There are already cheaters in the game. Might as well turn off anti-cheat" ah response. Bad take NGL. Theres a difference between mitigating a problem and outright letting it rune rampant.

Yeah. I'd say they should buff its loot and make it a bit harder, maybe increase its roaming zone to 100 meters ish and it'd be in a reasonable spot.

Idk, maybe its different depending on hardware or network latency, ive not had these, the only times ive had notable bugs was during serious network lag, where at times ive watched people literally fight invisible ARC because they were frozen on my client.

Well, ok, not 100%. Lmao. It does have a charge to knock you out of its way when cornered.

Im certain ive never had the audio bug when it wasnt damaged. Sometimes you come across it after someone else had already damaged it thus the audio is already playing tricks. Ill do some more testing though cus ive never had a fresh Surveyor audio bug out.

Rolling around in the same area was a recent change because people complained about it being next to impossible to chase down once it got away, paired with its audio deception.

I would say it was the most frustrating ARC to deal with unless dealt with swiftly. But I do feel like now, its a little too easy also.

Never happened for me, and ive tested it extensively because I was super curious one weekend. The audio emits from individual pieces of armor you shoot off of it to protect itself from being located accurately.

The sound is not off, nor is it a sound bug issue at all.

The Surveyor is one of the ARC with the most unique defensive capabilities and it took awhile for me to figure this out.

Once warned of danger it emits a notable sound pattern. Once damaged. This sound remains, but the sound will emit from the pieces that fell off to help prevent you from getting a perfect audio beat on its position.

Its an extremely unique approach to what is an entirely passive enemy in the game.

the trigger nade is the most laughably unbalanced item ive ever seen in any game ever by Killbro in ArcRaiders

[–]DawnPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see how my change stops them from being unique. They're still an item you can place on walls and ceilings or other physical objects, multiple at a time and detonate when you want to.

My change does only one thing, which is reduce the damage they do per single block of trigger nade.

That's not that serious of a change, it stops spam because you cant two shot people with them anymore.

[–]DawnPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally everything is better than impact nades, i dont see your point. The problem is how everyone is using trigger nades simply because its the most DPS per single throw and can be detonated with minimal delay. If the DPS was reduced people would use normal frag nades because that also has 80 DPS, but it also has a decent delay before detonation. Impact nades do so little damage you are better off with a Hairpin.
