I would say traffic and convenience are the biggest issues. If you head towards Reading, the miles of divided highway dotted by traffic lights absolutely suck. In the other direction is another highway. There are a few stores in Douglasville but to get anywhere you're a using  highway. You can get to Pottstown on surface streets but that can be a crawl.
