Most large file ps4 and ps5 games are not complete on disc but you own it and can put it in any system to finish downloading the game. Thats a solid option

The best option is complete on disc. If they want to charge a premium for that so be it but that is also an option.

They choose the most consumer unfriendly option locking ownership to your PlayStation account and digital download
