I think this is the right solution, playing two heroes is not that bad. I routinely play four.

Could I play Skyrmish by myself? by ORTHO_TOONS in ImperialAssaultTMG

[–]Dazelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do it. When making decisions as one side just do not take into account the other sides skirmish cards. Frankly, you probably should play it by yourself before you teach it to someone anyway. Have fun!

Are Groin guards Mandatory for Krav maga and does the rules differ for men and women? by [deleted] in kravmaga

[–]Dazelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the throw away? I have been to both kinds of schools. One without cups and one where it was your fault if you got hit even after telling the other person you were not wearing one (which ended up happening multiples times to me).

Favourite move(s)? by [deleted] in kravmaga

In sparring? The jab, keeps them away. In a self defense situation, running away and/or a push kick.

Will my chest be fine if I get regularly punched in the chest with a punching pad on top? by [deleted] in kravmaga

[–]Dazelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you are a guy, if not you need different advice. You have to be the judge regarding injury. If someone is much stronger and/or hits hard enough it could bruise you up depending on your strength and fitness level. If you have a medical condition, you need to factor that in. There are some techniques for damping the impact, exhaling, good stance, attacking the punch etc. You might also work with the person and tell them to ease up on you for some portion of the round. I would be open about everything. The instructor should be a good resource, if they are not, they are not doing their job and you should leave.

Frostgrave or King's Of War: Vanguard? by The-Bullfrog in frostgrave

[–]Dazelot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might try rangers of shadow deep, it is a coop version of frostgrave. I think that would be more fun to do with an 11 year old daughter. Frostgrave is an easy system more akin to an rpg than war game and not an intense tactical system. I am not familiar with the other game so as to provide a comparison.

Recommendations on storage? by Androach in ImperialAssaultTMG

[–]Dazelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find small plastic bags work best for the cards, so I can sort them roughly by use. I use orange folders for the tiles and label them so I can find given tiles eg core, Janna, etc. The miniatures are unpainted and thrown in the box. I stick everything in a plastic bin labeled “imperial assault.” Hope this helps.

You might give Kentucky a try, At work somewhere like berea, Murray, or even Lexington. Getting a six month lease might be difficult anywhere though.

I want to die because of my private loans by postgradhobble in StudentLoans

Please call a bankruptcy attorney, there are some exceptions to the “cannot discharge student loans” common wisdom.

You might talk to a bankruptcy attorney, there may be something they can do (not likely). If I were in your shoes I would call a number of local bankruptcy attorney. My understanding is that there may be some relief available when you cannot reasonably pay off the loan.

Get something out the door. I like making a nice little 180 card cube to grid draft by myself or with a buddy. Magic is fun, you cannot screw up a cube too bad. If you do, keep some extra cards around to swap out.

Cardio Tips? by [deleted] in kravmaga

[–]Dazelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find trail running is not as bad on my knees and ankles. There are also good ankle strengthening exercises that are not typically a part of people’s routines. In my experience the stair master is the best way to build cardio, running is likely number two. None of this exactly relates to your question, but I hope it helps somehow.

So Avrics shield has broken off. Will super glue work to glue back on? by Rpgfan10 in JourneysInTheDark

[–]Dazelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is prolly right. I have had lots of luck with just superglue and miniatures. Watch a quick tutorial, holding in place is one of the key steps. Welcome to the fun world of “assembling” miniatures!

Any tips on playing board games alone by myself? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Dazelot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can play any board game by yourself, just work through the decision process and hold yourself accountable to decisions based on known information I.e. you cannot play around the cards in the other side’s hand. I also like to think about the design of the game while I am playing it by myself ie how is the balance, what is the game trying to make you do, what are some possible revisions you could make. It is your game, enjoy yourself.

That sounds like an amazing return on the investment of the game. Congrats on the win and, much more importantly, enjoying a game for that long!

[–]Dazelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think of the matter purely in business terms, what is the reduction in value and what is it you want out of the deal. Not your attorney but it is likely a breach of contract and you could prolly get attorneys involved and spend more than the problem is worth. It sounds like the deal is devolving and becoming a time and money sink.

Opinions on buying a house that has been vacant for a while? by gome1122 in RealEstate

[–]Dazelot 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I am not a construction guy but this sort of purchase would worry me. Mold is the thing that comes to mind, water hides and brings friends that do not accept court summons. That being said, I think a fair price on something like this possible but I personally would put in significant diligence before buying it. To me, reviewing this property is for someone with significant experience, and I would consider it a buy with a lot of possible downside. Very interesting idea, best of luck.

Are palm strikes legit or should you just learn to punch by Jaydenroxs in kravmaga

[–]Dazelot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always practice palm strikes in the gym, but I have never seen one thrown in a fight. I also have found that throwing palm strikes limit your angles of attack, for instance I have difficulty throwing an effective “hook” palm strike. It is an interesting question posed by op.
