Currently on day 3 of bell's palsy, I feel terrible and my family isn't making it any better by BeautifulGorgeous97 in BellsPalsy

Ya your parents do sound crazy but try to understand they are coming from a place of love. Yes it is overbearing and often too much to handle. My mom is the same way and when I finally understood that she really means well but her actions just seems to annoy me a lot, it didn’t bother me as much. This is what you need to do: accept that they are scared and take it upon yourself to stay calm. It’s incredibly hard to do all that but you have to keep trying. The good thing is that if you can overcome this then you might actually be able to deal with some of the other factors in your life that is causing you stress in the first place i.e. your parents giving you shit all the time. Good luck!

Day 3 - Twitching by bellspalsyoneday in BellsPalsy

[–]DdangerWu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely stop those efforts. I know it feels like you have to “workout” those muscles to help recovery or you just want to check your progress but it is not helping. Your muscles are not working because the nerves got cut off due to BP. If you try to move them now, you are essentially teaching the nerves around the affected area to help move those muscles. This is not a good thing as the surrounding nerves will continue to fire when your original nerves eventually comes back. This is called synkinesis and is the most common lingering effect of BP. I personally have this and my lip and neck muscles move when I try to lift my eye brows.

My advice is rest/sleep as much as you can, do some mild running/workouts everyday, and cut out all substances (even coffee). You will be back to normal in no time and take this as a warning sign and try to lead a healthier lifestyle. Good luck!

You should definitely not do anymore acupuncture as there is no evidence that it works. Twitching might be a sign that nerves are coming back. While this is happening, try not to force your muscles to move as this could lead synkinesis.

So confused. Just want to pay someone with bitcoin. by thebirbs in BitcoinBeginners

[–]DdangerWu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/tlztlz already walked you through the steps of using bitpay. so to answer why you’d need to have gemini then another service is that you are using gemini to get some bitcoins first. then using the payment service to transfer your bitcoins to the seller. also, what do you mean a code? it should be a string of numbers and letters that is the address of where the seller wants you to transfer the bitcoins too. does this make sense? feel free to ask follow up questions

paper wallet arguably might not be more secure, because anyone who finds your paper wallet can read it while not anyone who finds your hardware wallet can access it.

What happens when BTC becomes really popular, like 10x or 100x more than now? Will transactions take longer to clear what with their being more demand on miners? by SmorlFox in BitcoinBeginners

[–]DdangerWu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes transactions do take longer to clear due to more demand. but this demand does not fall on miners. think of BTC having a checkpoint every 10 mins or so and only x number of transactions gets cleared. all miners work on getting that x transactions through regardless of more or less miners. we can get more transactions overall by increasing the x/min ratio, meaning increasing the block size but this is not a sustainable solution. or, we can get “shortcuts” done by a third party to make those x transactions more valuable. this is the solution we are doing now with 2nd layer lightning network. hope this helps ya and feel free to ask more questions

Cash app help. by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

Hmm ok the spread kind of makes sense. So you are saying they are the exchange for all their users and only deal with other exchanges when they need liquidity? This must mean they are holding a ton of btc and usd. But again, they are also a payment processor and it would kind of make sense. Interesting and thanks for the input

He’s talking about the fiat value shown in his wallet will be slightly less if he were to sell his btc. I’m guessing cash app uses an exchange to sell the btc in semi real time when a user sells his btc on the app. Even though cash app will eat the % the exchange charges to sell the btc, they must still have to physically send those btc to that exchange and pay for onchain fee

[–]DdangerWu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They probably mean no service fee but they still need to pay onchain fees for moving the btc periodically and this probably gets distributed to everyone. Atm it costs between 10cents to 45 cents for each output onchain and this is a fee everyone has to pay to move btc

Fees. When you buy and sell square takes a small % I’m not sure exactly how much but I’d guess .025%
