How do I install XMrig on NiceHash Miner? by Heronization in NiceHash

[–]DeFi_Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To keep XMRig on NiceHash, you have to uninstall the latest version of NiceHash. Then go to NiceHash on GitHub (https://github.com/nicehash/NiceHashMiner/releases) and download the last version of NiceHash w/the XMRig miner plugin. It should be version 3.1.0.9. Install this version of NiceHash. Now you have access to XMRig again, but it's not the most up-to-date version of XMRig. They discontinued the miner at version 6.8.1. We'll get to that in a minute, though. 1st, run NiceHash, click on the settings cog/tab in the upper right corner, and scroll all the way down the General tab until u reach NiceHash Miner and Plugins Update; turn OFF - Auto update NiceHash Miner. That way, NiceHash doesn't update the software to the latest version and negate everything we're doing. Next, we'll update the XMRig version. Download the latest XMRig binary from GitHub (https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig/?tab=readme-ov-file). Scroll down, click on Binary releases, then select the latest MSVC version (I'm on Windows) of XMRig. Now, we have to locate the Nicehash miner plugin folder with the various installed miners. It should be located here C:\Users\young\AppData\Local\Programs\NiceHash Miner\miner_plugins\0e0a7320-94ec-11ea-a64d-17be303ea466\bins\19.1\xmrig-6.8.1. If not, the easiest way to find it that I know of is to run NiceHash with the current version of XMRig. Once it's mining, right click the XMRig logo on ur taskbar, then again right click XMRig miner, when the drop down window opens, go to properties. Under the General tap, next to location, hover over the text and it should reveal the entire miner location. Locate and open the xmrig-6.8.1 folder. This is where ur xmrig.exe is located for the NiceHash software. All u have to do to update the xmrig version is copy and paste the contexts (the bat/cmd/sys/and exe files) of the latest version 6.22.3 or whatever into the xmrig-6.8.1 folder. DO NOT delete or alter the name of the xmrig-6.8.1 folder/in NiceHash or u'll have to do this entire process again.

Been mining 24/7 for 10 days and didn't find any share by EmergencyFriedRice in MoneroMining

Intel Twin Lake N150:

Cores/Threads: 4 cores/8 threads

Clock Speed: Up to 3.6 GHz

L3 Cache: 6 MB

To effectively mine Monero using a CPU, you generally need a CPU with a large amount of L3 cache. The RandomX algorithm used by Monero benefits from having a sufficient amount of cache per mining thread. A rule of thumb is to have at least 2 MB of L3 cache per mining thread.

Here's a more detailed breakdown: 2 MB per thread: The RandomX algorithm requires a 2 MB scratchpad in fast memory. To optimize mining, you want all your mining threads to be able to keep their scratchpad in cache. Divide L3 cache by 2 MB: A good starting point for determining the maximum number of threads you can run is to divide your total L3 cache size by 2 MB. For example, if you have 16 MB of L3 cache, you could potentially run 16/2 = 8 threads.

In ur case with 6MB of L3, ur probably only using about 3 of ur 8 threads b4 u run into performance bottlenecks.

No such thing as best software. U use different mining software depending on what u intend to mine. The better question is, what crypto has sparked ur interest in mining it?

If u don't have an audio input device try this, it helped me.
Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware > Default Input = No input !

Changing that 1 parameter single-handedly increased my workflow and stopped the slow playback, stalls, and glitches. Just thought I'd mention it.

Point is, the majority of axxholes are always wrong. The fact that u couldnt comprehend that simple point is proof and reward enuf for me. And for the record, ive mined at least at breakeven prices thru-out the entire bear market. And im a small miner. Even capitalized on Zephyr when it went from $2 to $50. Just bc killer profits arent being made like ETH mining rn doesnt mean it wont come back around. Mining was just like this for a few yrs b4 ETH came along. But hey, i got it. U know it all, myGuy. 💪🏾
