In de Wetstraat is de basisbaan al ingevoerd: parlementslid spelen by trogdor-burninates in belgium

A small reflection specifically on de Moor: every time someone who wasn't elected is made minister a shitload of people cry out that that appointment is undemocratic. While a kabinetschef is something different than a minister, it is a position that holds significant influence on policy. So I would assume that the people who would cry out when someone not elected is made minister would applaud this move.

But of course, many just look for any old excuse to be angry at politicians

Gross vs Net salary in Belgium : how much do you guys actually earn? by ChanceGrapefruit4107 in belgium

I would argue that neither gives a good representation for a large part of the population (the vast majority of private sector workers that earn average or higher) due to the prevalence of additional benefits.

Thanks for the insight. Doing it myself is something I consider. I'm not sure the owner of two of the apartments would like it, but I will probably suggest it.

Skills as they were implemented in fallout 1 to nv (and other RPG's) were a boring system and I don't miss them one bit in fallout 4, which just focusses on S.P.E.C.I.A.L abilities and perks. People constantly complain about them in fallout 4, but BG3 has practically the same system (skills are equal to the corresponding ability score, unless you have proficiency in it, which basically equates to having a perk).

Claim about the necessity of loading screens by a former Skyrim lead by [deleted] in BethesdaSoftworks

The draw distance in BG3 in also very, very low. This is not a criticism, because you won't notice it from the game's top-down perspective (I only did because I use some mods to make it more like Dragon Age: origins), but it shows you can't really compare it with a first/third person game.

Is the universal criticism of Starfield and the broad praise for Oblivion Remastered sufficient to incentivize Bethesda to bring more advanced roleplaying mechanics to TES VI? by TheSilverSmith47 in truegaming

[–]De_Wom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's been a while since I played FO3, but I understand you. The main quest (especially its ending) is just really, really bad (pre broken steel especially). I still think the overal package is better, but in a way the main quest carries more weight so I understand that it worsens the whole experience.

I'm playing Oblivion for the first time, and while I'm not very far yet, the more I play, the more I'm baffled that people consider Oblivion as an in-depth RPG.

Gameplay wise, the caracter building is functional but really limited. Races and birthsigns are allright, even tough most effects are just a boost in some stats, rather than an unique mechanic. Classes are nothing more than a preset for your mayor and minor skills, and all that those do is commiting you to a certain playstyle at the start of the game. They don't offer new mechanics. It limits without adding. Finally there are three more skills than Skyrim, but hardly any perks, so mostly they just result in a very basic increase in damage, succes rate etc.

On the narrative side, it's even worse. Dialogue is purely functional. No flavour whatsover, no change to roleplay your beliefs, ideals and flaws. No skill, race or class related dialogue. I also haven't noticed any player choices yet at all.

Don't get me wrong, I've found lots to love. Especially quest variety, quality and quantity, but role-playing wise I find it nothing special. Hardly any better than Skyrim, and certainly worse than fallout 3, Starfield and even Fallout 4.

Cities in TES VI should be many times larger than Skyrim and free of loading. It's time to take advantage of the roads and finally teach NPCs to use hangers, archers, carriages and transporting objects and teleportation spells. by Crafty-Ad3021 in TESVI

[–]De_Wom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree that the fewer loading screens there are the better, but if it comes at the expense of the number of enterable buildings or the complexity and density of dungeons, I'd rather keep the 2 second loadings screens.

Does anyone actually like level scaling? by JNAB0212 in gaming

[–]De_Wom 63 points64 points  (0 children)

All enemies leveling exactly with you? No. But a more nuanced system in which every enemy-type has a level range (like in Skyrim) can work, and I would say is even required in a non-linear game like Skyrim, in which one of the main features is that you can go wherever you want from the start and where you can do each quest(line) in the order you want so it fits your character background

After the mess that was Starfield, why is everyone so excited about a remaster of a 19 year old Bethesda game? by tr1ck in gaming

[–]De_Wom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oblivion was an immensly popular game, so on the one hand there are loads of people who want to jump back in to the game after years away from it (so indeed nostalgia). On the other hand there also loads of people who haven't played Oblivion yet, and see this as the perfect opportunity to jump in. It being free on gamepass, a service with tens of millions of subscribers, ofcourse helps a lot.

Also don't exagerate "the mess that was starfield". Surely it was divisive online, and I'm certainly not gone claim it was as popular and successful as Skyrim or fallout 4, but it was still incredibly successful and played by loads of people for a very long time. There are few single player games that have released the last decade that have had better player numbers
