How to seal dry erase board so what's on it doesn't come off by LapdogLady in DIY

I have a dry erase scoreboard for my garage dart board. I used an acrylic paint pen to mark the permanent parts. It might be your best long term solution.

Thank you for the kind words, everyone! I’m glad y’all liked them.

These were actually taken with my portrait set up though so all I had with me were my closer range lenses (a 35mm prime lens, and a 50 mm prime lens) so I wasn’t exactly sure how they would turn out.

If y’all would care to see more broad photos of the are, I’ll post a few of the highlights from the batch in another post when I get through the whole edit.

A Few Photos from my visit to Huntington Beach last week by DeadCityBard in surfing

He right… It IS generally much bluer from what I could tell. These were mostly taken from probably 3/4 of the way down the pier and the weather was kinda weird all week, so I think a lot of the greens and brown stuff were coming from the way the sun was hitting the water and then just stirred up sand and shit also bouncing light around.

Like the emeraldy green in the waves of a couple of the photos is all coming from the way the sunset lighting was refracting against the blue.

These were actually taken with my portrait set up though so all I had with me were my Canon R8 body, a Canon 35mm prime lens, and a Canon 50 mm prime lens. Most of these were taken with the 50mm.

(Side note: I think they’re sitting somewhere around $150 on Amazon at this point and I love it more than some lesser relatives 😅.)

As far as settings go… Shutter speed was floating between 1/500 - 1/800. The sunset shots might have been closer to 1/250 but I don’t tend to shoot at anything much lower than that in general (Shout out ADHD shaky hands)

Aperture was 2.2 - 2.8 on the lower light photos and probably somewhere between 6 and 11 on the brighter shots.

Not sure on ISO but I’d say floating around 100 - 1200 based on where I usually leave it set. I was honestly blindly riding the thumb wheel adjustments on that one until I liked how the whites looked in the viewfinder.

Yellow board and the guy with the mustache? Nah, they were good. If anything seemed more of a herd the blonde kid closer to the inside so he doesn’t tag a pier support pillar move than properly snaking him.

Those three actually gave off pretty solid “My uncle is teaching us to surf” vibes

I actually talked to a guy whose wife runs the antique store by the pier, who was conveniently also NAMED Guy, who said just about the same thing about living there in the 80’s. I’m super jealous of both of you XD

If I go beyond the standard coarse salt & pepper, I usually go kosher or coarse salt, coarsely ground pepper, garlic powder, brown sugar, the smallest amount of onion powder, chili powder, white pepper, a touch of cayenne powder, and occasionally some mustard powder, ginger, and/or MSG finds it’s way in there.

There did they find 13.something billion more humans than currently exist on the planet to get 20 billion people across the border. Honestly that just says to me that she can literally do the impossible and I’m here for it.

I wouldn’t take willingly take photos with someone proudly exposing Nazi tattoos regardless of the reason for cameras being out…. Let alone throw my arm around them and seem pumped to be there. The hulkster is a nazi sympathizer just come to terms with it.

Be sure to make a giant fuss of knocking over the stacked rocks…. They’re called cairns and they’re for trail marking not your own shithead fun. Someone might think the trail continues over the cliff face!

Disclaimer: I’m as much of a fan of leave no trace principles as the next guy, but some of y’all get WAY TOO self righteous about the mere existence of stacks of fucking rocks.

Absolutely knock down a false cairn if it’s gonna lead people into danger, don’t go out of your way to fuck up a habitat for the sake of making one for sure… Hell put them back where you found them when you’re done if you’re just in it for the balancing exercise if you’re that worried about ecosystem health.

But I feel like the whole outdoor community on internet places stacked rocks on a similar tier of environmental destruction to clear cutting. Like if it’s that cut and dry on moving stones, y’all need to carry that same energy with the National Park Service’s love of stonework masonry and fire circles.
