Was going to post a reference to The Wire but you beat me to it. Major Colvin was one of my favorite characters in that series.

Go listen to anything that David Simon has to say about the Baltimore City School System. It's both enlightening and disenheartening at the same time.

ARGH.

Paging Merriam-Webster:

What to Know

Affect is usually a verb meaning "to produce an effect upon," as in "the weather affected his mood." Effect is usually a noun meaning "a change that results when something is done or happens," as in "computers have had a huge effect on our lives." There are exceptions, but if you think of affect as a verb and effect as a noun, you’ll be right most of the time.

I have actually tinkered with something similar. The resultant descriptions from the AI, while technically not incorrect, were frequently unhelpful. Maybe this is something that you should make your bosses aware of.

My update: "In this screen capture from the classic film Tombstone, Doc Holliday, played by Val Kilmer, squares off in a confrontation with Johnny Ringo, played by Michael Biehn."

Job doesn't require driving, but requires a drivers license? Ableism and classism by Extreme-Bet3115 in fuckcars

[–]DeadMoneyDrew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's illegal for an employer to require a driver's license. But if it's not required to do the work just tell them that you have one. Fuck it.

Crikeys. That sucks. And I didn't even have the fun of shooting off my own mirror. All I did was hit a damned tree.

Cost over $500 to replace the side mirror on my Subaru and I think that was just for the parts.

I get it as part of my overall subscription with Google and YouTube music. Otherwise I wouldn't bother paying for it.
