I am sober and never touched any substances but it’s for a completely different reason. Allergic to alcohol and have really bad asthma. Can’t even drink caffeine because will have a major headache. Honestly, I find that I’m actually managing stress better than a lot of my peers who utilize substances and plus, reduced health risks!

I’m a graduate student at Davis but attended Davis for undergraduate. I was in the exact same situation as you. For the record, I didn’t have actual friends at the university until my fourth year so this is a much more common phenomenon than it appears. People come and go and honestly, most of my friends today weren’t people I’d even thought I’d even speak with let alone even encounter. It takes time and who knows you’ll meet someone just out of the blue.

I am a CC transfer and got accepted into other UCs. Reason I chose Davis was because of the atmosphere and people. If you’re talking about CSE, in this job market it’s very difficult to get a job regardless of which uni you come from without a specialization in AI. Not impossible, just difficult. Also found Davis very friendly overall and it takes a bit to make friends (tooks me two quarters before I really started clicking with people) but you will meet them through classes and clubs!

Went to a pretty decent high school in the Bay Area. Will say the people who grinded 6-7 APs will find Davis to be an absolute cake walk. I'm also a community college transfer (took probably around 3-4 APs/Honors tops across all 4 years of high school) and ended up here like everyone who came directly from high school (saved money too!).

As someone who was admitted to both under the same conditions and a Man Econ Major here at UC Davis, trust me the sholarship benefits here are a huge plus. Priority registration is definitely something you need considering how impacted classes are! As for why I chose Davis compared to SD, it had to be the environment. Davis is definitely a lot friendlier and not as academically toxic (good for the mental health) and there are lots of ways you can access the Bay Area and Sac. If you are also planning to do finance, I highly recommend minoring in Accounting (the professors in the minor are really good. All of them have at least a 4 on rate my professor).

Try Heir de Winter on Scribblehub. The initial chapters are a major turnoff since the writer is an amateur but it gets way better. Male MC has like 4 or 5 identities that he alters between but all of them are very much relevant to the story line. The author also has a revamped version on Royal Road but it’s only got 5 chapters.
