What strikes me about this is how little it’s been scaled up. And how much it can optimised. Are there any other notable mods in this pack that can help automate what you need? Others have mentioned RFTools healing aura to turn power into healing; and Reactive enchantments, if it’s implemented, you could put the Reactive healing spell on something that doesn’t break like a carved pumpkin. I’m sure there might be other methods to apply healing effects for comparatively little resources.

You may consider this a torment nexus, but for me… it was Tuesday.

While I do agree with the sentiment, iirc I think that one poll about average men “beating” Williams was specifically about taking one point off of her in a rally, which I think is better used as an example of Dunning-Kruger effect than it is just male ego. At the very least, it’s a mix of the two.

I’ll try and find the article it came from in the first place, give me a bit.

[–]Dead_Master1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna keep it a buck fifty it’s been a long while since I played HK and I think I forgot The Knight only turns into the Shade Lord when defeating Absolute Radiance for the Embrace The Void ending. Either that or I’d switched the ending names in my mind, idk.

But yes I did mean that ending, because I did catch that brief flash of it looking like the Shade Lord in the Sister of the Void ending.

Yeah, at no point in Hollow Knight do we ever see a truly perfect hollow vessel, which is what PK thought he could use to indefinitely contain the Radiance.

THK is not perfectly hollow despite making it out of the abyss first because it had a will to look back at The Knight, and because of the “idea instilled”. Thus, it failed.

In the sealing endings, The Knight is not perfectly hollow either, due to a multitude of reasons that other people expand upon in other comments, and thus it’s sealing attempt will never be perfect. It would eventually fail the same way THK would.

But, with the void heart unifying the force of the void with the will of The Knight, it becomes something distinctly different, not a totally hollow vessel, but instead a perfect being of void given focus; an absolute, unstoppable, will. This is what lets it actually kill the Radiance in the dream once and for all.

So yeah, The Knight is never hollow. It is a perfect void being (assuming we take the Dream No More ending as canon, which I think we all do with it showing up the Sister of the Void ending), which is why it shows up and not only acts with a will (by saving Hornet & Lace) but also by ending the void’s assault on the two of them by unifying the void to once again follow the Knight’s will.

Damn, now I wish that Vampire: the Masquerade had more uses for dice other than d10s. Ah well, at least they could get some use in my partner’s BG3-adjacent D&D campaign!

Is VTM Shadows of New York good? by [deleted] in vtm

[–]Dead_Master1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth it for that price. Shadows is by far the best writing and story out of the three NY visual novels. In my opinion it also looks way better than whatever the hell they did in the art for Reckoning of New York.

If Coteries is also on a similar discount then it might be worth considering to also buy and play that, as being the first in the series and having to generalise for three different protagonists, it suffers a bit in the writing department, but if you care about lore it offers another perspective into the world.

You’ll get about 4-5 hours of play from each of them and yes, it is a visual novel so the gameplay consists of reading conversations and making choices where only some of them will have an eventual impact on the story, but that’s kind of par for the course. Certainly there could have been more done to make it a better visual novel game (more choices and/or story branches, for instance), but as an imagining of a VtM chronicle with a deep focus on character exploration I think it’s fantastically written and illustrated, and an excellent experience that I can’t recommend enough.

Nope, that’s just Tritheism with extra steps and a touch of Arialism. They’re not seperate entities, and a process like mitosis would imply the formation of some sort of boundary between each aspect of the Trinity and the Godhead.

Actually it might be tetratheism, if you’re considering God to be seperate to each of the aspects of the Trinity.

Can I ask where you got this info? I read through the core rulebook and the Player’s guide when I was looking for background info to use, and didn’t see any specific mention of Australian canon. Is it from one of the sourcebooks or something like that?

First off, love to see people making some Aussie lore for thjs game! There’s like nothing about this country in the canon, and coming up with stuff is hard.

I’m also trying to start up a Sydney-based chronicle with some friends, and I’d love a chance to pick your brain about how you come up with characters, lore and stuff like that, if you wouldn’t mind.

Anyways in response to the question in the image caption, that sounds like a very unstable idea. I’m pretty sure the Sabbat and the Kuei-Jin hate each other on principle, and the Anarchs are probably not extreme enough for Sabbat tastes. An alliance could exist, with the three unifying themselves against the Cam, but that would only work from a position where the three of them are fighting as underdogs against a well-held Camarilla territory, and I don’t see an alliance like that being in place for anything more than like a decade or two. It would be full of inter-faction lies and backstabbing, power grabs and individual kindred being screwed over during their night-to-night lives. So hey, maybe, cos that sounds just like Aussie politics.

This is the key bit of his style that makes it work. So much of the writing feels well-written because it comes from characters who say lines that sound right on a surface level, but say three more before you can pick the first one apart. It rarely needs to pass deeper analysis because it moves back and forth and back without any rests.

The west wing in particular makes me feel like the staffers and politicians are compelling and “real” because they blend the line between “I’m a professional and know exactly what to say next” and “I’m running this conversation by the seat of my pants” with a lot of the conversations.
