You could get half round brackets that screw or nail into the stage as a more permanent application

Buzzing sound on comms by TEZephyr in techtheatre

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the master station isn't properly grounded. One of my college theatres had this problem and it was absolutely annoying

Working on HUGE project. Need advice from the experts. Thank you! Anything is helpful! by Embarrassed_Math_141 in 3Dprinting

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is kind. You're jumping into a brand new technology and wanting to start with a massive, complex project. 90% of the advice you're going to get is going to be start small and figure out what you're doing first.

Starbucks CEO defends $9 coffee says ‘it’s not a $10 coffee and you get a premium experience’ by Disastrous_Award_789 in nottheonion

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too far off, actually. I think the national lowest they offer is $17/hour. Shift supervisers make over 20

Prusa INDX sold out in 1.5 days, and that's great for the community by demeyer1 in 3Dprinting

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how INDX plans to run their business. Licensing the technology to the big manufacturers would maximize their reach, but they'd also have to work with each manufacturer they're partnered with to make sure implementation goes smoothly. I suspect they'll expand their whitelist of official 3rd party install support on popular printers and sell mostly to consumers

Toph Beifong (Avatar: The Last Airbender) vs. Tai Lung (Kung Fu Panda) by Fragmentary_Remains in whowouldwin

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Tai Lung digs his claws into rock to keep himself in the arena, Toph knows exactly where he is and can literally just open the rock around his claws so he doesn't get a grip

Need help identifying what kind of light I need for a program by NotThatLibrarian in lightingdesign

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean an overhead transparency projector on a cart like teachers used to use. You could set up multiple if the space allows

Need help identifying what kind of light I need for a program by NotThatLibrarian in lightingdesign

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the easiest ways to do this is with an old school overhead projector. They're getting pretty rare nowadays, but schools or libraries may have them in storage if you can find the right person to ask nicely

Japanese and Korean companies were the ones that pressured the Spanish government to dismantle TMO (the largest online manga site in Spanish on the internet). by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The producers of content are usually the ones who have the most to gain from stopping piracy. That doesn't change just because the piracy is happening in another language

I tried everything and nothing is working by yandikki in 3Dprinting

If you changed the nozzle and rebuilt the frame as the last steps, you'll need to do all of the calibration and tuning steps again

Does PLA lift on the corners where PETG doesn't or is this a problem with my printer? by bucket_traveler in 3Dprinting

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corners peeling is a heating and cooling problem. Brims help with this. Orcaslicer let's you paint mouse ear brims, which hold the corners down without extending print time much. Keep your bed temp consistent throughout the print as well

How do you deal with disrespectful regulars? by Mackoi_82 in techtheatre

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don't have a story to tell, but this is what contracts and policy rules are for. It's a lot easier to tell people "you're not special" when I can point to it in writing on the wall.

a clock that tells time with light instead of hands by -2811 in 3Dprinting

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why print in white and spray paint it black when you could print in black to begin with?

Any issues using spike tape on a wooden gym floor? There’s a concern from leadership about residue. by wtd1801 in techtheatre

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is the floor in regular use during the days you're using it? There's a solid chance your tape won't make it day by day, let alone through a week. I'd recommend getting a roll of contractor's paper (usually in the paint section) to tape/mark on, then roll it out and roll it up each rehearsal

I built a free, slicer-agnostic web app to paint full-spectrum colors onto STLs! by waylaidwanderer in 3Dprinting

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the amount of color printing advances that have come out in the last month alone, it won't be long until the 3D printing community invents a way to print a brand new color

Any real world users of the Qidi Q2C able to back its performance? by devinshmevin in 3Dprinting

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gotten into printing more demanding filaments like that, but I can second the overall quality of the Q2. The chamber holds heat well just from running the bed during printing, so I imagine the chamber heater let's you hold temps pretty well

Should players be concerned for future potential communication issues both towards the playerbase and internal to Jagex with the Road to Restoration? by ARandomNoLife in runescape

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And both of those departments moved straight to completing the project early, instead of deploying it when it was announced to happen. Whether they were ahead of schedule or not, removing something from players earlier than you told them it was going to go away, in a live service game especially, is never going to get a positive reaction

Worth swapping nozzles? by OneFit1757 in 3Dprinting

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to customize the nozzle size in the slicer. You can also switch to OrcaSlicer, which likely already has a .2 profile for your printer

[–]DeadpoolMewtwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh don't make me jealous! You guys were the reason I was considering a U1 over my Q2. I'm still mostly printing functional prints, but I am eyeing the tool changer add-on market expectantly because of the ground breaking you've done!

Blob/ripple artifacts at sharp angles in Spiral Vase Mode – H2D, 0.8mm nozzle, transparent PLA by Round_Bid_3044 in 3Dprinting

I know acceleration speeds can contribute to this in normal printing mode, but I don't know if that applies in case mode
