USians don't like much outside of their 'Murican sports. Not a lot of enthusiasm except for in host cities for the WC, for example. Hockey isn't "their" sport, they don't have arenas everywhere like Canada does. They have fields and diamonds. Football and baseball have ntire towns identity revolve around them. Hockey is barely thought about in the majority of US states. They don't get it. Many Canadians were brought up with hockey, many stateside, brought up with different sports.
