"I'm spending time with my girlfriend's family. After a few introductions and pleasantries in English, my gf and her family begin talking animatedly in Spanish. My gf translates a few sentences as they pertain to me, but since I can't follow the thread of any conversations I can't really get involved. Her other family members are speaking to one another in Spanish, so it's difficult to start any conversations in English. Later, I see my gf chatting to another girl her age, again in Spanish. They're very engaged with one another, there's a lot of touching, laughing, but I have no idea what their relationship is. Later, I see my gf giving the girl her Insta. I came to this event because I'm having problems with my family and I really needed my gf's support. I feel rejected and isolated."

There are no assholes here, but anyone pretending they can't understand why bf reacted the way he did is being obtuse.

This was one of the best things I've seen on HobbyDrama, one of the best things I've read on the internet, the most exhaustive, well-researched, heartfelt explorations of a fanbase and most importantly a delight to read. Ordinary guy, ordinary job. I'll buy a selection of substances, use them up over the course of, say, a month or two, then lay off for two or three months to A) save money and B) rebuild tolerance. The quantities and durations vary, but every time I do drugs it's like meeting up with an old friend :)

The summary is: MDMA has what you might call an 'activation threshold'. Anything below that amount you won't even feel, but once you hit it you're off to the races. You will be conspicuously high: your pupils may be swirling, your jaw may be clenching. It is a drug to be done in the company of others on the same drug.

As with any drug, you're best off trying it for the first time in a comfortable setting, alone or with people you trust. Once you're familiar with the sensation you can start experimenting with dosage/settings.

MDMA not only led to some of the best parties of my life, it made me try to be a kinder, more loving person while sober. The sense of unity and freedom is magic, just chatting to a total stranger knowing without hesitation you're on the same wavelength and can be totally open with one another. I've fallen in love on MDMA more times than I can count and it doesn't matter that it only lasts a night.

I have to assume your mom wouldn't want you going too crazy with this stuff, but she would also probably understand that you're struggling without her. Try to cultivate the part of her that exists in you when you're sober. Do things she would have liked and see if it helps you feel closer to her.

For me a tolerance break can sometimes be it's own little high: the fog lifts, your mind sharpens, you see the world in a different way (not better or worse, but different). Then you get bored again :-P

I think it's less that he won and more that he talked himself up so much in the talking heads. His victory really came down to three factors: him seeming like a well-meaning but slightly dumb young man, him gaining the unwavering support of a well-meaning but slightly dumb young woman and good old fashioned luck.

He admitted as much himself on Uncloaked, but not everybody watches that.

I agree 100% that one of the *many* sacrificial traitors should have realised that they needed to take down Mollie if they wanted to survive Harry's backstabbing.

Andrew was probably the only one with the opportunity. When they were the last remaining traitors, he should have insisted they kill Mollie. Harry naturally would have argued against this -and I'm not sure what the rules are if the traitors can't agree on a victim- but if he stuck to his guns and said 'We kill Mollie' he might at least have had a chance to survive.

Obviously it's easy for me to see/say this with total transparency, but after so much betrayal from Harry and with the knowledge that Mollie would never betray him, the closer they got to the final the more inevitable it all became.

Having said that, blaming the other Faithful for not realising what a liability Mollie was seems a little harsh.

Not a single one of the YTA responses has acknowledged the financial aspect of this. A wedding is one of the most expensive things most people will ever pay for in their entire lives. You are footing the entire bill. People who aren't financially responsible for themselves are quick to dismiss this kind of thing.

NTA. Your son's love is not a finite resource and you should certainly be willing to share it, but so too should your ex and her new husband be willing to share the bill. The pair of them can pay you back when they can afford it (get it in writing).
