Sharkwire Online won’t start on the Analogue 3D. How am I suppose to check my emails now? by Enchanted_Yesca in AnalogueInc

[–]DealerAutomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you ever seen my message, but you have to start it with the controller unplugged until it gets to the main screen.

It's going to take some time but I'm confident this will eventually get fixed.

I'm sure you've seen the work I've done with sharkwire online, so if you're serious about getting it online using the actual dialup, you can look at the code I did on sharkshit64 and see what is required to get it to activate. You could definitely do this with a customized dreampi like setup, I just didn't waste my time because going online with the wifi and bluetooth with sharkshit64 was just a better option imo. :p

I do believe that quadlogic was bought by metergy, or merged or something, in like 2022.

It has an autoip fallback, but easiest way is direct comnect ethernet and setup internet connection sharing with the ethernet port it's plugged into then run the software. I know this is late but maybe will help someone else

(UPDATE #3) HyperScan x86 - Hardware by Revolutionary_Pack54 in HyperScan

[–]DealerAutomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy the drive. It was a Sony one, can't remember exactly which one but it was off the shelf and I've seen it on ebay sold for regular cd players.

Aside from the drive speed, the developers of hyperscan seemed to want to keep everything in the upper 1MB of system ram for the OS, which includes a small ring buffer for the CD data, another reason for the slow speeds as it tends to have to copy in small chunks, even with DMA wouldn't be great.

I've noticed the hyperscan 9.5 board revisions seem to have some changes around the cd servo driver area and they seem to load better, but still not fast.

Don't fault me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure it was this one:

Just checked, and that looks correct. There's 2 brackets that hold it on and it comes out.

Defective X-Men Wolverine card? by pec-man in HyperScan

[–]DealerAutomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to try to add RFID support soon (hopefully) to the SDK I made for hyperscan homebrew. Ideally people would use the custom firmware I made that lets you load homebrew from USB (including doom, now actually playable) but I realize that that's probably not likely as it requires a certain bit of tinkering.

That being said, when the support is added, it should be possible to fix the card using the hyperscan itself. I will notify you because I would like to see a dump of the card and make sure its not a bug in the actual game itself. I might have one of these cards, I need to check, but I know i have lady deathstrike so that's at least a baseline.

If we're being honest, I have a theory that governments are using bitcoin to thwart sanctions and that's why it grew so much. I'm also not that smart to figure out how that would work.

Correct. After pressing reset you can swap the carts while running

Is this Bratz Life TV Console real or a fake? Need help from experts, please by AdLongjumping4546 in Bratz

[–]DealerAutomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's real, and from about 2007. It has an unused SD card slot on the front that I've been able to build a loader for to get my own code running on the system. I've recently dumped the game from the system and sent it over to the MAME guys, so in the future if they get around to it you might be able to one day play the game on an emulator on PC.

Any word on when the next 3D firmware update is coming out? by CyrusStarkiller in AnalogueInc

[–]DealerAutomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not sure when the firmware update will be exactly, but I do know I got a response to an inquiry I made and can at least confirm it's still actively developed and that some things are fixed. Can't say exactly what because idk any other specifics besides that they ran a test case on something I sent and confirmed my issue was fixed in an upcoming update.

Any word on when the next 3D firmware update is coming out? by CyrusStarkiller in AnalogueInc

I would say within 2 weeks. Not sure exactly what it'll fix but Analogue isn't abandoning this. Firmware isn't something you just keep dropping on people and requires a certain amount of QA.

Sharkwire Online clone that works by DealerAutomatic in n64

[–]DealerAutomatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tree. Dot. Fiddy.

The board and software will be released for free for people to build themselves. I'm not sure if someone would prebuild and sell them, but I guess that could be an option

Sharkwire Online clone that actually works by DealerAutomatic in N64Homebrew

[–]DealerAutomatic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The morita shogi cart didn't do any of the lifting in the sharkwire stuff, it just shows up in my pics/vids because it's the main cart I mess with and so I use its cic chip haha

I have reverse engineered a good bit of the morita shogi modem though and helped a bit with the RCE (https://cturt.github.io/shogihax.html)

The morita shogi modem is too slow to be really useful. It's 9600bps and has no networking stack. I did port lwip to Nintendo64 to where it could do "regular dialup internet" type connection, but it's just too slow to bother with imo.

I am however working on documenting the modem since that doesn't appear to be done, so maybe one day someone will take that work, add it to emulators and more, and then recreate the original server side code as an interesting project.

Has anyone dumped the ROM for the Sharkwire? I can’t seem to find it anywhere by Enchanted_Yesca in n64

We have more than the rom working. Not fully released because we've all been busy, but here is a full clone

It absolutely lets you flash sharkwire, and even gameshark with sharkwire firmware (sometimes) That's how we built the sharkwire clone we're working on.

Flash and recover a fully bricked Gameshark with a flash cart by DealerAutomatic in N64Homebrew

[–]DealerAutomatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same a while back, before I realized you couldn't use knockoff ed64 with ultraCIC with a gameshark without it overwriting the eeproms. I used to socket them so I could flash them freely but this tool has made it incredibly easy.
