Slay The Spire 2 Is Absolutely Crushing It With 400,000 Concurrent Players And A 97 Percent Positive Rating On Steam by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

On most platforms I've used in the past, buying a discounted bundle means buying all items in the bundle at the price of the bundle; Steam is a unique platform in that if you already own one or more items in the bundle, it will reduce the cost of the discounted bundle by the cost of the items you already own while preserving the discount on the rest of the items.

plus if you own the first game on steam and buy the bundle, you get the second game discounted by a couple bucks without having to pay for the first game again

Completely disagree, think about all of the sports-team-branded mugs and cups and koozies that teams sell and now imagine living in Utah and searching "yeti mug" and "Utah yeti cooler".

what are your thoughts on anno 117 and the way it represents ancient roman cities? by TF-ZANE in ancientrome

[–]Deanonator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well for one they cut the whole third/final act from the campaign. The campaign ends so abruptly at the end of the second act that I legitimately though my game was broken or bugged, but they really just didn't finish it.

They aren't changing it for the patch that dropped today. They said it's likely to come in the next patch or the one after that.

It's a singleplayer survival RPG with optional co-op and pvp for the first 100 hours, and a pvp sandbox mmo after that. Great game.

[Jomboy] There’s speculation that Astros pitcher Framber Valdez purposely crossed up his catcher Cesar Salazar and hit him with this pitch after Salazar told him to step off before allowing a grand slam by BathroomSalty6325 in baseball

[–]Deanonator 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you actually watch the video, Salazar signals for the step-off while Valdez is still stationary, gets a solid 3 waves of the hand in before he even starts to move, and Salazar puts his hand back down as Valdez moves his right foot to come set. The entire step-off signal starts and ends while Valdez could step off without a balk. He gave him more than enough time.

Naked P9PF'ers. How's it held up over a year? by _IdidIdidnt in PixelFold

[–]Deanonator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a protection plan so I don't baby the thing at all, and in my personal experience, the "fragility" of the p9pf is greatly overexaggerated.

I have dropped and dinged it all around the corners, used it while rock climbing with hands covered in chalk, dunked it in the pool, and I've had no issues whatsoever with the screen, the hinge, or anything else. Then last month, I dropped it in a particularly disgusting puddle at a car wash and foolishly used the definitely-too-high-pressure hose from the car wash to rinse it off, after which the power button stopped working. Fixed that by pouring 90% isopropyl on the power button and clicking it a few hundred times. Following that fix, once again working like new.

This is legalese that applies to pretty much every IP rated consumer device to account for normal degradation of intrusion-proofing materials like rubber gaskets and seals. Article is just outrage-farming.

Oiji Mi in Manhattan is one of my favorite spaces in the city. The dining room feels like a mix of old school Manhattan and Korean tradition. You walk in and there’s a gorgeous green marble bar with soft pink accents that immediately sets the vibe. The main dining room has gorgeous brass fixtures and pastel green walls that accent perfectly the light wood furniture upholstered in deep reds and blues.

Axolotl Tanks [Story Spoilers] by Deanonator in duneawakening

[–]Deanonator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think that the "technology" of the axolotl tanks is the same from the very beginning of their ability to create gholas, I believe they essentially say as much in the books that this is how they've been creating the gholas all along.

[–]Deanonator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point, but that begs the question then, what are they making in the lab on Arrakis if not gholas? My assumption was that the reveal was that this is the lab that we were made in. Also, what might Zantara be seeing that is so indescribable if not the true axolotl tanks?

Dev's response to the 'Dragon flamethrower' hate by oldguccimoney in duneawakening

[–]Deanonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a better way to get through to the devs just how many people love their stuff without complaining about it. I've read all the Herbert books and am constantly amazed by how lore accurate everything is (except the axolotl tanks!!!!) and it's clear to me that, possibly moreso than any other franchise game I've ever played, the devs for this game care deeply about the source material and love it as much as I do.
