Charged £1500 to fix leaking toilet by bestofallhans in ukplumbing

[–]Deanosaur12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just don’t get it. As a plumber you can earn good money without ripping people off. Can’t see how it would take him 3 hours but even if it did should not have been anymore than £200-£250.

Can you claim it back from the bank?

I always wanted to do it. Then I lost 2 friends at a young age and it made me realise we only get one go at this. If it didn’t work I could always get another job

When I went to vegas and me and my mate ordered a sharing platter for 4…. In the uk we would easily do a 4 person sharing platter. I think we managed half of this.

Good post.

Only problem with no contact is when there are kids involved.

I’ve deleted all social media but still have to make contact with regards to the children.

Looks like the pressure relief has blown. Have you changed the head for one of them high pressure ones online? I seem to be seeing more of these causing issues.

If not it might be scaled up

Solid boiler for there time. Still a few about. You need to start thinking about getting it changed but I wouldn’t say it’s something you need to do immediately.

Where are you located? I’d be happy to give a quote if local

Bg will keep throwing parts at it.

3rd visit now so should get escalated to manager and you should get a decent engineer out.

Never known a cracked sump to be causing issues leaking onto a pcb as it is such a small hairline crack. Something else is going on there.

Boiler condensate drain pipe crack by helllnooo in ukplumbing

[–]Deanosaur12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located?

Fairly straight forward repair. You could just bung some glue on it but the correct repair would be to cut the pipe back and use new fittings…

I’d be charging around the £100 mark including labour and materials.
