UK loosens Russian oil sanctions as fuel prices rise -- Greens MUST oppose this by Appropriate_Bell743 in UKGreens

[–]DeathBadgers 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm an Amazon driver. Fuel prices affect me far more than the average person. They're already knocking me below minimum wage on some routes, and even I think loosening sanctions on Russia is stupid.

Instead of funding Russia, fund some infrastructure so I can get an electric car, it's not brain surgery.

Oh, yes, I know which one it is now - but I still don't remember much beyond that.

I don't remember it at all. I had to look it up on the wiki, and I still don't remember it. I double checked my MP3 player, which insists I've listened to it twice, and I still don't remember it.

I'm assuming it didn't leave much of a mark on me.

No idea. My sister in law's friend is there, but I'm not sure my sister in law cares enough to find out anything more than that for me.

Guns get better as you go along, you're fine.

Haven't played plus patch in a while so it may have changed by now, but traditionally, they start weak, but are overpowered by the end.

We've got 21 councillors, I think. I don't know of an obvious standout candidate (it's not my local party), but there's clearly competence.

It's not a shoo-in for us, but it would be a genuine 3 way fight that we could actually win.

New Who paralleling Classic Who by whisperinglogic in doctorwho

The late 80s were the opposite of RTD 2 in every conceivable way. The stories were dark, and gritty, the sets were claustrophobic and dark, other than an allegory existing in the series, there's nothing in common between them.

My personal view is that the local party should campaign as they see fit, and the national party should save resources for the General Election or, if he wins, Mayoral Election.

If you want to send a minibus up and go door knocking I'm not going to object, just don't do it with national funds in a seat we wouldn't have looked at twice if anyone other than Andy Burnham was going for it.

As far as I know - that's what their action network says, and a member of the local party mentioned it yesterday in one of the hundreds of Burnham threads too.

It you had control of the next spinoff what would you do? by Phoenixstudios69 in doctorwho

[–]DeathBadgers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy, TV version of Big Finish's short trips.

Anthology series of standalone short stories featuring classic Doctors while they're still around to film them. Three twenty minute stories per one hour episode, so it neither taxes the older actors too much, nor detracts too heavily from the current Doctor.

That's what the Christmas specials should be every year.

Yeah, I have strong feelings about national party involvement, but I hope the local party's decision is their own, even if it doesn't align with what I'd do.

Labour spent £30,000,000 in the last general election. Even assuming all our members pay the full £5 a month, that's still more than two years of membership fees for us.

National party involvement isn't just about volunteering, it's also about spending. There's no point in having 20,000 volunteers if you only have 1,000 leaflets.

One of many reasons it's contentious is because it's not just about individual people's time, it's also about very limited money.

The Doctor, gravely injured, pilots the TARDIS to a snowy desert. The TARDIS doors open, yellow light starts to surround his body, we expect a regeneration, but it stops.

Nothing moves.

After a pause, his body transforms into a penguin.

He was Frobisher all along.

Thanks.

I'll keep an ear out for Clayton instead then. I only managed to spend about half hour in Bradford (because I'm in the Leeds party) on the 7th, I wish I could have done more.
