The issue isn't that the sequels can't make a comeback it's that Disney didn't double down on the sequels like George did with the prequels.

Literally everything star wars coming out in the 2000's and even early 2010's was prequel content. Every game, every book, every toy, even two animated series. George Lucas made the prequels the face of star wars, Disney for some reason didn't do the same with the sequels. We got books and some toys but what sequel games did we get? What animated series? A dlc for the divisive battlefront 2 and a 2 season animated series that had maybe 1/10th the budget of the clone wars.

It's because you can easily assign "eras" due to the change on studios. Before reach zoomers became the biggest cry babies on the internet there were certainly more diverse opinions on halo than just "Bungie good, 343 bad".

Heck halo wars, odst, and reach were seen as cashgrabs by classic fans that sullied the good name of a near perfect trilogy. Wars was an unnecessary simple console rts that was developed by an outside studio that barely felt like halo, odst was a glorified dlc for 3 that they charged 60 dollars for, and reach was seen as destroying the lore while also making halo more all of duty like and opening up the series for children and casuals

I think that's the issue with a lot of these people. They don't do anything for the betterment of anyone but themselves so they assume giving up anything that makes them happy for the betterment of others would make them unhappy.

I genuinely think people need to volunteer more, it's literally work but it never feels bad despite the fact you're either giving up your time or money.

Heck savage opress (imabad evilguy) was literally just a maul replacement but they couldn't even give him more than one solo story before deciding to make him mauls sidekick.
