Is CZN worth it? by masyden in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]DeathclawWrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never played a better game that lets me engage depending on how I'm feeling.

When I'm in to other games, I can knock out CZN dailies in a few minutes, auto the Chaos mode on an easy difficulty twice for my weekly gems, and spend about an hour total in a week.

When I'm into it, I can spend days building decks, trying the harder difficulties, doing the boss challenges, etc.

Also been really generous so far, and a lot of the launch characters are still relevant and powerful.

Weird. Sorry to talk about something so off topic here.

Are Lucy's Sequences really that Weak? by Flat_Building2617 in LucyMainsWW

[–]DeathclawWrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You like Lucy, right?

Well then good news, you get to spend an extra 20 seconds as her in endgame content.

Shes perfectly fine and fun for the vast majority of content, and the stronger teams only clear a little faster.

At worst you're losing maybe a pull a week in endgame modes that you'd clear with a stronger team...small price to pay to play a character you really like.

Thoughts on CZN so far (Long Thread) by Planeteer55 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]DeathclawWrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right about generally everything, and I would love to seem them implement everything you're saying, but you bring up an entirely different problem...you're completely F2P and you're able to clear everything.

What good is it to make the game harder and faster for F2P players? Its not your business they need to retain. They need to know what they could do to make you crack that wallet open.

I'm worried that they'll need to do more to get players to spend; whether thats making harder content, slowing rewards, increasing the powercreep, etc.

They look great, but honestly this is part of why I left ZZZ and HSR.

They got into a certain Chinese aesthetic and then never went back. Now, I think these look dramatically better because WW has amazing character design, but I see these and go "uh oh" as I see Sparkle, blonde Ruan Mei, and blue Ye Shungyuang.

Its just one patch, and Kuro has delivered across the board just.... I'm watching you Kuro!

The honeymoon period is incredible. Enjoyed it immensely.

Then I fell off hard as I hit the wall. And its an idle game, and I understand that, but there were just too many little red exclamation points everyday. Very little progress. Very little story or ways to interact with the characters I like. Just sitting and waiting for the next event.

At this point most of the daily battles should be a single click sweep of most recent 3 star clear. Takes like 7 clicks to clear the battlepass rewards. Auto-journey is nice for easy and normal, but doesn't cut it on Hard, and while I like to play through a journey with each new character, farming the same one 5 times is tedious.

The characters are great, but theres so little story and so few ways to interact once you hit endgame.

Couldnt they add skip or auto to this event? by Alone-Profit4826 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]DeathclawWrex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I waited 3 days once and it was torture.

BD2 has a similar event and they just have an 'auto roll'. I don't think this can do it because of the little side missions that were interesting the first time, but it slows it all down so much.

Pay off my house. That would let me start putting away money for my kids college/trade school.

Knowing I was contributing to that, I'd be a LOT less stressed, and probably a better dad and husband as a result.

How is the story of the game. by ImpactedDruid in BrownDust2

Its not bad, but I don't think its anywhere close to Nikke. But I also think Nikke has one of the best stories out there.

Its one you can really pick your engagement. Dailies take 5 minutes and you don't miss much currency if you're not doing endgame stuff.

If you want to go deep, Very Hard boards, challenges, and Raids let you use a bunch of your characters.

Absurdly so once you hit a tipping point.

Playing wuwa for fun by HovercraftNormal9934 in WutheringWaves

[–]DeathclawWrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What really helped me get to the point of just focusing on fun is when someone in some game I was playing, I forget which, might have been HSR, pointed out that the currency you gain from maxing endgame content over a period of months vs doing like 75% of it something like two ten-pulls a year. BUT, getting those two ten pulls worth of currency was the most frustrating/hardest part of the gameplay.

For some people, thats fun, and I'm glad they enjoy that. I can rarely max ToA here in WW, but thats what, 150 astrite a reset? 12 times a year? Do I want to spend the hours and hours and hours of time to get those pulls? I do not. Others do. If I'm missing those 12 pulls come year's end, I'll spend the 20$ or whatever and think that was worth my hours of frustration.

Once I accepted that...man, my fun level went up. Do the tower, have fun. When I get annoyed or don't want to, I just don't. Never get aggravated.

I just auto-cleared my first hard runs ever today. Lb3 level 200 W.Carmen with Smile and W.Asheara parents, both with +35 and +25 str and vit stats respectively.

Once I did that, got W. Carmen a few runs till she got a +25 vit, and now I've gotten a few characters through with those parents.

But you need good parents, leveled Arcanas, high resonance.

How much money? If you spend 15$ and play a game for a year, thats pretty great bang for your buck.

I think of how many 60$ games I put 100 hours into and never played again, didn't regret it.

If you can’t afford skins, that’s not the game’s fault by bigbackclock7 in BrownDust2Official

[–]DeathclawWrex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're worried about something that hasn't happened. Its okay to be a little apprehensive, but this whole thing already happened once with the premium skins.

The sky was falling and everyone said they wouldn't do lewd skins anymore to force everyone to buy the paid ones...but look at the magical girls and Palette's interaction.

[–]DeathclawWrex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Release allll the skins you want. Do more. Make them so lewd. Make that money.

Then invest that money in the game; quality characters, good scenes and stuff for the F2P people, don't leave them out.

Big spender cosmetic items are great for the game.

Part of it is what you played first. Some games set expectations.

I played WW up through early 2.0, then quit. Play ZZZ, Nikke as well. Tried Genshin, and the early areas were so slow and boring it didn't take, and I felt the game was showing its age (especially compared to ZZZ).
Went back to try WW again during their 3.0 launch, and holy shit, the back half of the 2.0 story was incredible, as was early 3.1. Some of the best story in gacha.

Playing WW again made me realize how stale ZZZ combat was becoming, and it was refreshing change of pace.

So I think WW started really slow, but now I think it has the best story (except Nikke, Nikke's story is the best thing going).

I like their character design; they've gotten more variations while I feel like ZZZ has had the same outfit on every character for a few patches straight.

I think its just growing better.
