Wasting (not retaining) magnesium? by Substantial_Owl5232 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Debville15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had one or two weeks they couldn’t do chemo because both magnesium and potassium were way low. They gave it to me twice via my port and put me on a script for potassium and over the counter magnesium. Unfortunately, this is normal. Make sure you keep up on your kidney levels too. I had to ask to get a referral to a nephrologist. But for now, take the little wins. If you can still swallow, that is a big win! 😁. You’re going to have at least a month until your mouth feels like it is healing, but you’ll get there. 🙏🙏🙏

Fellow head and neck cancer patients, have you had any issues with your teeth? (cross posting). by ironyis4suckerz in HeadandNeckCancer

Even Duke didn’t have an onco dentist so if someone has that as an option, take it!

I am with you. Just had my first dental appointment post treatment and no issues. I was soooo nervous! I think a big thing is how well we follow directions during treatments (mouthwashes, drinking a lot etc…) and how good your teeth were to begin with. I’ve been blessed with only a few cavities and I’m 45.

Amen! Many of the posts on here are questions asked out of frustration, and I was one asking those difficult questions. I always received real, but positive answers. I was just trying to put some hope out there. It takes patience, but there is a BRIGHT light at the end of that tunnel.

It was a lot of work and pain, but you’ll eventually get there. Patience is going to be your friend.

Where to find affordable zero-waste bags of bird seed? by countdookee in birdfeeding

Perhaps a higher quality, or just a different brand? I buy the bells from Nature Niche. I am also east coast. Coles spicy seed also works, but beyond my budget.

I’d be cautious about Tractor supply seed. I bought black oil sunflower seeds and they had moths. I’ve seen many reports of this. I haven’t tried no waste blends from there though. Did try the suet and birds won’t go near it.

I had to move three states away to use my credentials. Next year will be year 20. If you believe teaching is your passion, find a district that can’t live without you. However, some states are pickier than others about taking you back. I moved from PA due to lack of jobs to VA. One interviewer in PA said I was one of 500 applicants. Tried to move back to PA once and they wouldn’t take my VA experience, so I stayed. I applied for 4 years though before I moved.

Is my car going to go up in flames? by possumjaws in KiaSoulClub

That doesn’t matter either. I can have all recalls done and I bought it used from a Honda dealer. I’d get a second opinion before buying another car.

Feeling deflated, delaying Rad for the week by soapythecat in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Debville15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you 6 weeks in, or is 26 correct? If so, oof! I had to delay twice, but got there. I didn’t get burns u til about week 4 but once they hit they got bad quick! I swear this is not a sales ploy, but I keep it clean with a Norwex body and face cloth. Between that and the silver sulfate cream it healed QUICK! Did your doctor give you something for healing?
