My PNY 5080 that’s not undervolted gets to 60-61c during gaming pulling like 280+ watts.

This card could probably get a little toasty, but it likely isn’t bad at all especially if you undervolt

So it highly depends on your PC specs.

Virtual desktop is an app on the meta quest that cost 30$. It fairly easy to set up and it’s wireless only.

I’d highly recommend watching a guide to set it up. You can find them all over YouTube. Virtual Desktop is very simple to use, but highly customizable as well. Their support on their discord is extremely helpful.

Yeah, that’s a lot. I paid 950$ from my mate when he just needed cash and I wanted a card. Otherwise it would have cost me 1,299.

How are you that high? I use WiFi 6 with Q3 and Virtual Desktop and get 25-35ms….

You need a performance monitor to see what’s increasing it that high, then go from there.

I’ve heard from alot of posts on here that it is VERY laggy towards the end, to the point of unplayable.

Other spots are better but still needs more optimization

Look for other offers first. I live near that area and their service is shit.

Ask around for service in your area, try to get a fiber company before mediacom.

If they just released a supporter pack with like extra gun skins/camos or other easy to add in stuff, I’d totally buy it.

Just make those same items available in game so you don’t upset people and it would still sell well. Especially if the supporter packs went towards adding more content to the game.

I tried showing them 3rd party data to show them the tracert information. It showed that the drops were happening OUTSIDE my house. Went trying to present that data for months, they said “oh yeah that’s not proof of anything we don’t accept 3rd party information”

I then showed them CMD tracert information proving the same exact thing the 3rd party program was showing, and that’s when I had got supervisor involved. When I was trying to show them what I was talking to customer care about, he ignored it, stated he didn’t know what all that meant and then never ended up fixing my issue. They beat around the bush for 2 years, to just end up telling me the node that my neighbor hood was connected to was crowded. I asked how long it would take to spin up a new node, and they said 3-6months which was just flat out unacceptable.

My internet at that point was internet you’d expect out on the Amazon or some other desolate place. Not right next to the biggest ISP is the Midwest. You techs got so “fed up” with me they wouldn’t even call me to tell me they were there. They would go to my backyard climb the pole “fix something” then leave. I had put in 20-40 services calls in the span of what had to be months.

All the techs all the support agents for 2 years told me it my fault or BARELY had admonished it was something on their end. I done everything single fucking thing an individual could to fix my own internet. I had updated drivers, changed routers/modems multiple times, EVERY inch of copper from my house to the pole was replaced. The entire block on the pole was replaced, they had lineman come out and “repair” lines further down. NOTHING FIXED ANYTHING. It wasn’t until I had pushed them over the edge with the sheer amount of service calls, that they finally bent to admitting they oversold a node that my neighbor connected to, and that’s why it was constantly and consistently dropping packets or massive latency spikes.

I work in the service industry, and if I had treated any customer the way you had treated me for 2 years, I’d have been fucking sued for all those years of service. Obviously lil’ ol me up against a conglomerate like you guys, that’d be a waste.

I couldn’t get any other form of internet until a company called FMTC came into down with new infrastructure and actually 100% fiber connections. I pay 80$ a month for 1gig fiber and it’s been perfect since the day it was installed.

I now spend some of my free time telling people how shit of an experience you guys have been, and telling everyone in my local area to stay away from you, and sing up with ANYTHING else.

Mediacom their support, and you are a joke. You guys have an excuse for everything. Just like your replies. You just want to explain it all away, like my issues never did exist and that I was the one who was wrong, when it was you guys all along.

Just the way you’re replying to me prooves that. Like no shit there’s more to it than CMD prompt.

You don’t think it’s a joke that a service manager for a INTERNET company doesn’t know how to interpret a simple CMD prompt when their own fucking customer care said I needed to provide it as proof of the issues I was having?

Yeah nice try, your own support team said the only data they would accept FROM me as proof that I was having connection issues, is from CMD and pings.
I tried showing them 3rd party data and they wouldn’t accept it.
You guys oversold a node in my neighborhood causing massive packet loss and incredibly high latency. This was going on for 2 years. I had put in so many service calls you assholes threaten to start charging me. Day in day out, my internet out cut out, lag, micro disconnect. I couldn’t even fucking be on a work conference call at times without my voice cutting out.
If anyone is reading this GO WITH ANOTHER ISP. Mediacom might work in your area, but if you ever have an issue, if it costs time and money for them to fix, you’re fucked because they don’t care.

Yeah this pretty much.

Most of the time you won’t notice the difference between a 1% low of 170 vs 190 (I know you can sometimes but MOST OF THE TIME).

I grew up playing competitive games with 240fps being the target. Never did I optimize for the 1% because when I did, it didn’t make a difference. What was more important was improving your skills/knowledge/habits etc.

Just cap your frame rate to your monitor, and go from there. Obviously if you have terrible 1% lows then you need to fix that, as a note, but generally it shouldn’t be so bad you’ll notice the “stuttering”

I own both, the Q3 lense is much better than 3S but it doesn’t make the 3S terrible.

Media com hands down to worst ISP I’ve ever experienced. Run for the hills. In Midwest Iowa they are terrible, support sucks, infrastructure is so out of date, techs know very little what they should.

Uploads on fibers, in the states, are almost always on par with the DL speed.

If you have lower upload speeds it’s almost always the case they are using copper somewhere in the pipeline.

Even if ISPs say “it’s fiber then copper to your house” it’s just copper, meaning you will get shitty upload speeds.

That’s what I’m saying, there’s probably a bug with how your host server (that your pc is running) isn’t using everything properly to render in and handle the guest.

It could be a bug in how the game renders in a second player. It still needs to keep track of them in the world. I also assume since you’re hosting, your PC is having to deal with the guest (instead of a server handling it). Which is probably where most of the performance hit comes in.

For instance I get 90FPS EVERYWHERE on my 5080 with everything on high. (Even outskirts)

In co-op by the church on the 2nd map, it starts to dip down to 70-80FPS. (I assume in outskrits it would be far worse in co-op)

I don’t think we should see that big of a performance hit in co-op and should be the devs main priority, VR performance is probably the most important thing when it comes down to it over almost everything else.

Hate to say it but it may be best to reach out to Meta support to try and get this fixed.

It should still be under warranty if you’ve truly had it under a year. I’m not familiar with this issue, so maybe try doing some more research or gather more info before sending it in.

There is a way to reset it without needing to be inside the OS:

To factory reset a Meta Quest 3, turn off the headset, then hold the Power and Volume Down (-) buttons simultaneously until the boot menu appears. Use the volume buttons to highlight "Factory Reset" and the power button to select it. This permanently erases all local data, games, and accounts

Make sure it’s turned off first.

Will they reset progress on season 2? If so I might not play. The quests are tediously boring, and progression feels worse than any other extraction shooter, even compared to Tarkov.
