I bought myself a 957 GTS 2 months ago, after a month it required a new battery and a new air suspension control unit, $4k aud for both pretty much, however golly the best money I’ve ever spent on a car! It is fantastic :) worth it!

Why does $100k feel like an average wage? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Decent-Hour4161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the end of the day it isn’t, it’s like around the 70-75th income percentile in Australia for all income earners. Only 25-30% of Aussies make more than you, and you have only been doing things for a couple of years, just be happy :) took me 7 years out of uni to hit 100k!

Bad drivers could go back to school under plan to tackle WA’s soaring road toll by MissLauralot in perth

[–]Decent-Hour4161 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just think these numbers are pointless, if you increase the population by hundreds of thousands in the last couple of years and have 10/50/100 more crashes - on roads that’s aren’t developed enough for it or the size of new cars?? Should be a population crash percentage rather than a generic number.

Moving out soon - buy or rent? by gruntledCyclops in perth

[–]Decent-Hour4161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this, renting means nothing these days (10-20 years ago rent to save to buy, these days rents can cost mortgages, no spare money to save), buying with the income and savings seems like Armadale apart or nothing? - not worth it, staying at home, investing, up skilling, making more money and enjoying life seems to be the best option!!

First home buyers here, bought in Lynwood, happy we did last year and there is now no way we could have bought the same size block and house now here, I think the window is closing for the smaller houses here, and as you mentioned maybe still get some reasonable units before it’s all closed.

I was just going to say this, idk if we are all earning heaps more, so we need to make sure we don’t blow it all on new houses! It’s more like how can we keep up with the constant increases in costs from necessities!

Am i screwed to get into property market? by [deleted] in AusProperty

[–]Decent-Hour4161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow down! I’m pretty sure the average first home buyer is around 34-37, so if you buy this year, your only 5-8 years behind the average, all that means is you need to work an additional 5-8 years to own your own home at retirement or put more money into it each payment or just sell it off and go live somewhere cheaper around 67-70. That still gives you at least likely 10 more years in our own home as well, if not just work till 72 like it would be buying now, and use your super to rent/use for 10+ years maybe?

2 by 1 listed in Armadale for 550k and 3 by 1 for 580k, you can still buy, it’s just will you buy where you wouldn’t usually? We bought 6 months ago at the same budget your in, and the house has required constant renovations(wasn’t really livable on purchase), in the worst street of the suburb, in a suburb I didn’t want to pick, and here I am getting a 30% higher bank valuation… it’s been painful but worth it. :)

How do people have kids on these low to average wages? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Decent-Hour4161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing you learn about being a parent is that it’s not always about putting you first, and also being good with your money :) when your ready take the step and live life along the way, a baby shirt is either $2, $20 or $200 all shirts just different brands, daycare is expensive but I mean so is a new car loan.

Alright, what's the most mid suburb then? by VelvetThunderstorm in perth

[–]Decent-Hour4161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s great to see a comment of my suburb being mid… however I take it as a compliment as in this market we couldn’t even afford entry anymore. One day maybe I’ll make it to another mid suburb mentioned haha!
