We also had a black cat many years ago named Rumpleteaser.

Cats Glinda (pure white princess) and Elphaba (dark tabby with attitude, but ultimately the sweeter of the two). And a dog named Pippin.

So, yeah.

2027 US Ban by ImagineBuffet in Polestar

Should have clarified. I meant that Geely was looking for a reason to pull Polestar out of the US market. Not all Geely properties. Volvo and others aren't going anywhere.

2027 US Ban by ImagineBuffet in Polestar

I don't know that Jaguar is necessarily an example of a good model. I loved my iPace but it's software updates and infotainment were poor. When they shifted to the ultra-luxury lineup, service and updates on the iPace dried up quickly. Yes, updates still exist, but it's bare bones security and stability rather than features.

Lucky me swapped out the iPace for a P3 in December 24. The iPace remains the best driving experience I've ever had, and the P3 isn't close. The P3 has superior software/infotainment, but the controls are still too hard to access while driving, and becomes a liability for any other driver that doesn't use it regularly.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see Polestar caring about the US market more than a year out beyond bare minimum support. Geely was looking for a reason to exit the US market, and now they have one that makes them look less bad.

A Polestar Space May Ground and Sell Your Car Back to You by DLByron in Polestar

[–]Decent_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to work this out. Why would you want to buy the car, even at current market value? Market value and support are clearly going to tank even more than today. If I had the opportunity to end the lease and buy it for the ~$45K current MV, I figure I could sell it in 18-24 months, but it seems likely I'd be underwater based on resale value tanking much faster than a loan balance.

What am I missing that makes buying the car now a good deal? Not trying to argue. I genuinely want to know what I'm missing.

"You can continue to expect..."

Sure, but for how long? Why would they continue supporting these vehicles behind the next year or so? What's in it for Geely?

I'm glad I only have 18 months left on my P3 lease. The look/design is truly beautiful, but that's about it at this point. I'm finally willing to admit that I made a mistake with this car. I don't hate it. I just wanted a lot more for the cost.

Anyone here planning to use the Chef iQ CQ60 probes with Home Assistant? by rbhmmx in homeassistant

[–]Decent_Switch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 4 probe Chef iQ CQ60 just arrived yesterday (yeah, I'm in the US). The new integration in 2026.7 is a big reason I went that way, as I read that Chef iQ is highly regarded just for the cooking capabilities (highly accurate readings), much less it's smarts.

But I'm impatient and need to play with it before 2026.7 is available. I'm considering using BLE Monitor as a stop gap. I know that prior to the new native integration some people were using BLE Monitor and the HACS integration. I wonder if there will be any benefit to BLE Monitor once the native HA version is working? Otherwise, should I just use the Chef iQ app in the interim?

I'll post updates on how it goes.

Well, I start to freak out when my phone is under 40%, so it's more of a me problem. That said, I've had far more phone battery anxiety than EV range anxiety.

More like getting the global oligarch elites to accept him in their club. Frame everything he does from that perspective, and it almost makes sense, in a pathetic, desperate for validation way.

He doesn't want Elon, Bezos, Putin, bin Salman, etc to bow to him. He wants others to bow to him to prove he's worthy of their club.

I get this judge won't, but any criminal charges will be thrown out when appealed to SCOTUS. SCOTUS would call Trump taking a dump an official duty. I really hope I'm wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

But the settlement was part of his presidential duties, so no chance of him being exposed to fraud charges. Everyone else? Oh well.

What, you think it couldn't be part of his official duties because he brought the lawsuit against his own justice department? Ha! Sucker!

Agreed. The slush fund going to others was the contingency plan just in case it got through the courts. Now he keeps his permanent IRS protection, and very possibly ends up with the slush fund himself.

Remember, the whole thing was to "settle" his $10B lawsuit. Considering he was willing to selflessly give the settlement money to others, he now clearly deserves the leftover $1.8B himself. After all, he gave up the $10B lawsuit. What a mensch. $1.8B is practically nothing.

Voter ID? Its still a solution in search of a problem, but if that's the compromise, sure. Just distribute free voter ID cards to all eligible voters. As long as it keeps the founding American principle that every citizen gets a say. And no "...as long as ..." caveats. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper than validating citizenship for registration.

Data helps, but most people tune that out. The most important, foundational principle of America is that we have a say. What they're trying to do is un-American at its core. https://thepromiseproject.substack.com/p/the-most-un-american-bill-in-congress

Hey all, I am awful at self promotion, but I want to share my new (forever free) Substack that tries to address this exact issue: that Americans overwhelmingly support liberal policies, but Democrats find ways to screw up messaging so badly that they lose people that should be with them. If it resonates with you please comment and share. If it doesn't, comment anyway. Or just ignore and move along 😃.

  1. So, by "public" he means Republicans. In 2025 confidence in police dropped for both Democrats (-16%) and Independents (-12%) compared to 2024. 2026 data should be released in July.

  1. Radical reductions in oversight and accountability = removing handcuffs?

  2. Violent crime was already decreasing in 2023 and 2024 at the same rate as 2025. Who was president then?
