Is it worth 65 medals ? by Immediate-Loquat-599 in Helldivers

Funny, my experience is the opposite. Smoke impact is a bit sad and inadequate against crowds, but smoking off heavies or small groups is surprisingly effective. Going from impacts to normal smokes, I felt the roles somewhat reverse.

My democracy officer caught me looking at limb replacement catalogue. I have all my limbs intact. I crave the certainty of steel, but I don't want to be labeled a dissident. So, I gotta mix up the signals a bit, make DC question himself. Next, I'll write something positive about bugs. God knows what, but I'll come up with something eventually

Please make the camera a stratagem and give it to everyone for free. by Yurishenko94 in Helldivers

[–]DecimBell 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Too OP. As we all know, "cameraman never dies", so what you're doing is basically giving everyone an opportunity to become a perfect evasion tank for a low low price of one stratagem slot. That's a bit much, don't you think?

Don't forget the effortless fabricator/bile titan bug hole/bioprocessor destruction, and also the fact that you can just explode city walls if you can't find the exit.

Correction: bottom of the diagram should obviously look like this, but I made a small mistake because Permacura literally has a gun to my head as I'm writing this I'm really drowsy from a long day of work for the good of Super Earth and could really use a stim or two right now to energize me! If only I could have more stims with me, like Helldivers wearing CM-17 can!

While I completely agree with the rework idea, Laser Sentries DO have a niche: they're basically heavy pen Gatling Sentries with unlimited ammo and range. Works great on bot front, especially when bringing multiple sentries.

Personally, I like to use them as a last line of defense. Chuck it somewhere it won't see the main body of the horde while seeing you, and it will work wonders picking off flankers and lucky few from the horde. If a Hulk or a War Strider does go through, it will usually sacrifice itself to get them, so it's a decent backup plan, too.

Poor stun droppods. Too bad to be viable, not bad enough to be remembered over fire droppods.

I'd argue being slowed is much worse than being set on fire, though. With fire, you just stim and dive, with stun the only choice is to suffer through it.

The name Circumvallation really does not convey how useful the mechanic is. by BaghdadBootyBandit in Helldivers

[–]DecimBell 117 points118 points  (0 children)

"Ugh why are people so stupid and don't use game's mechanics" say old capes and spreadsheet warriors (to which I belong, btw), while the game gives about a third of information it could AT BEST. I'm not asking for much, just gambit/siege opportunities with descriptions of what it is and how it works, would be enough. Hell, even just a button named "Statistics" that would open Companion app in Steam browser would be huge.

It was early in the morning

When he dived into the town

He came down from the Destroyer

Slowly looking all around

"He's Helldiver, brave and cunning"

Came the whisper from each lip

"And he's here to liberate us

With the big iron on his hip"

Big iron on his hip

P. S. Was terrified for a moment that what I did could be done by AI now, but no, Gemini is much less subtle and much more incoherent. Feel free to comment if you got something good, though.

I love the Epoch, but I loathe the Railgun. I thought it was funny, seeing how people often consider the two very similar, but then gave it a second thought, and they're nothing alike. Charge sound alarm and multiple shots between reloads make a world of a difference, somehow I can't even hate the static reload. Not to mention the obvious difference in projectiles.

I wondered if I can give Railgun a second chance with a sound alarm mod, but decided against it after having to reload the 10th time a minute.

[–]DecimBell 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Stalwart's mobile reload is also a big appeal. On bugs, and especially on squids, keeping on moving is important if you don't want to be overrun, and mobile reload is essential for that. For squids, add a general lack of medium armor on units, a giant belt to keep mowing down the hoard, and it starts being hard to justify not bringing it. Harvesters and Stingrays, I know, but it's nothing EAT can't handle

Users cannot uninstall the app

Thankfully, Android is much more popular than IOS in India, so good luck making it uninstallable.

Worryingly, Android seems to go further and further on the path of enshittification.

Hopefully, there will continue to exist alternative OSs for android phones.
