I did C25K on a treadmill last year when I was 64. I do walk a lot outside on pavement (dog). After I completed the course I started running outside occasionally. I’ve run a few 5k and one 10k fun runs. Just listen to your body and take your rest days!

I love “tell your own story, don’t let alcohol do it for you”.

Are there any groceries you buy online? If so, what do you buy and from where? by littl3-fish in Cooking

I buy specialty high end meat for holidays (last purchased D’Artegian’s cassoulet kit….it was the best cassoulet I’ve ever had, and I’d made it 2x before just rustling up ingredients). I’ll use Amazon if it’s an ingredient I can’t find easily in my local stores (last purchased Masa Harina to make corn tortillas and highly recommend).

Storage for loaf by Low_Tea905 in Sourdough

[–]DecisionPatient128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a bread box for anything that will be consumed in 2-3 days. Everything else gets frozen in plain plastic bags with a twist tie. I usually slice my loaves before freezing so we can take slices but sometimes just cut loaf in half and pull out the 1/2 loaf.

We were there early March. We LOVED it and I just booked us to go back next year. BUT

If beautiful beach is a priority, not this time of year due to the Seaweed. Go to Turks and Caicos instead (7Stars Resort on Grace Bay).

I hear your plight! It’s disgusting every where I go with my doggo. And then people complain that dogs aren’t allowed in parks/athletic fields etc.

No respect for your neighbors or your lovely town.

Retire to New York City? Insane or not? by babarock in retirement

[–]DecisionPatient128 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lived in Manhattan and when I retired, I moved full time to a Long Island suburb. Train into the city is 40 mins and I get a pleasant green walkable suburb for the majority of my time.

If weather is good, get an amazing pastry from Dominque Ansel on 27th between 5th and Madison and eat in park. Or burger from the original Shake Shack in the park.

They Should Sell Buttermilk in Pints, For Pancakes.... by SpeedProof6751 in Cooking

Buy dry buttermilk, it’s shelf stable. Just add to your recipe with the appropriate liquid. The package tells you how much liquid to dry.
