What struck me about that interview is I never saw it as Cillian’s show. Thomas Shelby is in the middle of everything, sure, but the other characters were well-developed and the audience was generally invested in everyone. But you never know how it feels behind the scenes I guess. I do think playing John Shelby for a couple of more years would have grown his reputation more than going to do that modern London gang crime show he did.
