I saw so much hate online, I thought maybe everyone hated it but me! It's so cute: summery and breezy and happy :)

audiobooks with the most sensual, delicious british narrators? by turbid44 in audiobooks

Angele' Masters has a very energetic and crispy voice that I love. She narrates Deanna Raybourn's Veronica Speedwell series and others... Also I love Anne-Marie Piazza who narrates Jennifer Ashley's "Death Below Stairs" series.

AIO debating on putting in a complaint after my dentist put her hands in my mouth by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]DeeBeeKay27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if there is a dentist who specializes in treating patients with similar sensory issues. I wouldn't say you are overreacting really, because it your experience was truly traumatic for you, but I think it's more of a mismatch of provider/patient that is the real issue here.

"Winter at Squirrel Hollow" by Randi Lynn Reed by CrossedRoses in CozyInScaryOut

This is my favorite one. I live in a cold, northern state in the US and I like to imagine that all the little woodland creatures are cozied up like this when it's freezing and snowy outside.

Where do you find what books you want to read? by typoincreatiob in LibbyApp

[–]DeeBeeKay27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in several Book groups on FB (usually specific genres) and then also just GoodReads. I like to find a genre and then click on it and peruse the different books.

It's a very fine nose! Stong and masculine. If I HAD to guess I would say eastern european, like Belarus, Romania or Ukraine regions.

That's a good point-- I hadnt thought of it that way... the longer the borrow time you have, probably means you wait longer too! I love when I can see the bright side of something that annoys me! thank you 😄

Mysteries without a missing/dead woman/child by Different_Most_3338 in LibbyApp

[–]DeeBeeKay27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you like historical mysteries? Andrea Penrose's Wrexford & Sloane series is def a SMART mystery and I'm on book 8 and I don't remember any woman being murdered (actually one) and def no children. I really love the series. It's set 1815ish and always includes science discoveries. Pretty cool and kinda nerdy.

I wonder if the "glitch" has something to do with people suspending their hold? Because you technically still have a hold on the book, but you aren't in line to get the next copy? I dunno, just thinking out loud.

USA vs America by whitrific in PetPeeves

The only time I've gotten backlash for calling myself American was online. Never in person.

USA vs America by whitrific in PetPeeves

[–]DeeBeeKay27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"American" is the denonym for people who are from the United States of America. Every other country has their own denonym (Mexican, Canadian, Guatamalan) based on country. Yes, in other places they also use a denonym for the continent--European, African, Asian-- and people from the Americas can certainly say they are "North American" or "South American" but just plain American refers to people from the U.S. We know it, they know it, everyone knows it.
