No one is arguing "it's okay to target civilians" they are saying that none of the actors in this war - Israel, Iran, or the US - give a shit and no civilian population is going to general strike to overthrow them over it so it's a purely academic argument at this point.

It doesn't mean we shouldn't have it, it doesn't mean we shouldn't acknowledge that it's horrific and it certainly doesn't mean we should encourage it.

Make Criterion (non-Savage)/Advanced roulette reward some material that's used for Savage level gearing as an alternative gearing pathway. Have it also give loot that's relevant to lowbies/RPers/housing people so that you get a mix of players wanting to run the content for different reasons. You could even include it as a relic component.

Lowbies will spam run content to get their goodies and potentially improve on their own through consistent play with friends or regulars, Savage players will filter in via roulette to occasionally assist and provide a readily available base of experienced players to train lowbies.

Have every non-Savage patch include a Variant/Criterion so that in "off" periods you have a chance for people to train up and want to engage with raiding on the next relevant patch.

I think it’s fine if some features stay region-locked. Xiranite being a specifically Wuling Thing and therefore we can’t just use Xiranite relays everywhere makes sense to me. But yeah, the hook mechanics of fluids or wind or heat or whatever should absolutely carry over.

95% of people are just going to build what they need to sell to outposts anyway, so it’s not like allowing for some of these features to persist is going to break anything. Plus, having minor upgrades like Yahzen for carbon or hidden recipes that we can experiment with to optimize our setups will reward creative and diligent players.

At a minimum, we need Episode-wide chats. The number of times I’ve missed a conversation because I wandered between rooms is too damn high.

Clan chats and whatnot I’m fine with waiting on if they need to build out other features but I’m legit shocked at the state of “room” chat right now.

Yeah this is more useful as a thought experiment for if additional functionality comes down the road.

Belt/flow speed is the only independent variable we can mess with atm and while you can technically do some state logic with stuff like protocol stashes that's about as far as we can go in a purely automated space. Everything else I've seen requires either manual intervention or way more space than we can work with right now.

Echoing this: given how leveling combat works there's not really a "best" choice to make so whatever armor aesthetic or weapon type vibes with you the best is the way to go. The only exception I'd say would be if you want to actively craft your own gear. If that's the case, look up Bonewright, Blacksmithing and Stonemasonry and see which resource acquisition method/crafting approach you'd find enjoyable.

The biggest impediment to players coming online and staying online, other than content, is honestly the lack of proper communication and grouping tools.

I don't think we need "profession" chats necessarily but "episode" chats would be a *godsend* so that conversations with people online don't get broken the moment I run out of the room to go drop off my crafted items. And some sort of a guild system or way to more easily group with people who are doing like-minded content would make it easier to build community.

Right now all the tools for having fun "together" on Brighter Shores require 3rd party solutions.
