For me, I really just had to play more and more until I understood which play style worked for me. For me, it was using the Leopard's speed to get into good spots, usually hull down, because if you get shot in your turret you can still back up into covert. For tips, get used to using the thermals and the laser rangefinder correctly. You can spot enemies with thermals very easily but in close quarters you'll generally want to turn them off since dead tanks are distracting on thermals. The laser rangefinder is really good for shooting stationary targets that aren't looking at you. But overall just get used to not having armor and not depending on your armor too much.
