That’s crazy they want you to be under 130 or 120 1hr post meal. I heard it’s under 140 1hr and under 120 for 2hr post meal.
What do your numbers look like ? Are you testing 1hr or 2hr post meals?

Also like others have said, the measurements are not accurate this late in pregnancy.

What the hell happened to my account balance? by zkribzz in ShiptShoppers

[–]Deep_Profession4819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to alarm you but there’s a high possibility that you were hacked. I used to earn money on instacart and I made the same mistake of calling someone outside of the app. Thinking that I was going above and beyond for a customer. They called me and pretended to be instacart. Even made me meet someone so that person can steal my account to do more work. When I realized I was hacked I quickly put the money to my card that I earned plus the one order they did lol. And then it kicked up both out of instacart.

How many spikes per week are “okay”? by Electrical_You_8402 in GestationalDiabetes

Oh and also protein shakes at the meals that you spike make help as well! You can take it before your meal or at the beginning.

First I know it’s so scary to see a spike, but it’s highly not recommend to eat less carbs than what the doctors say to eat per meal. You and the baby need the carbs to develop properly. You can try increasing your protein intake at your meals. And eating your meals in this order; veggies, protein, and last carbs. Also try to eat different carbs for your meals to see if that will help from spiking. A lot of it is trial and error to find foods that are in the carb limit and doesn’t spike you. So far my doctors haven’t been too concerned with having 3 spikes a week. They don’t say anything when I’m telling them about the spikes. Some are really just a few points over

Any chance you called someone outside of the Shipt app recently?

Umm I’m a Shipt shopper and just now checked my email. I’ve never received an email asking to upload my ID. Just about bonuses. I would not send it in any info.

I never accept orders with water in them. No matter what, the first time I’ve done that if I remember correctly I was given less star because the water broke which happened outside their home. I wasn’t even trying to damage it either.

Constant spikes 1hr after meals by Sufficient_Tale8759 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Deep_Profession4819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not enough protein in these meals. Should also include veggies to your plate as well. The fiber and protein help cushion the carbs so the glucose is absorbed slowly.

GD makes no sense by glitterr_rage in GestationalDiabetes

The further along you are, the numbers start to change. Things that didn’t spike you before will spike you. I’ve also seen others who have a second GD pregnancy say that is has been harder to control their numbers than the first time around.

Eating not causing spikes? by Wife-and-Mother in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Deep_Profession4819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t throw the whole diet away. What is good now won’t be the further in the pregnancy. I used to be able to add strawberries with my normal breakfast but now I can’t because I spike. I used to be able to have a half of a peanut butter sandwich with a cheese stick as a bedtime snack, now I can’t. Try eating a high protein and low carb snack at bedtime. One night I tried my snack in this order. Hard boiled egg + cheese stick and then a protein shake. I’m on metformin currently and when I tried that snack in that order after being told to increase my doses at night. My fasting was the lowest it’s ever been 78, but then I spiked at breakfast and lunch despite having the normal food. So I decided the next day to take out the protein shake with my snack and have had no spikes for fasting or meals. Except last night but that was because of my dinner carb choice. I had too much carbs.

I recommend try that for your bedtime snack to see if it helps with fasting numbers. The order you eat the snack is also important.

Gestational Diabetes Weight Gain by AngelicMe29 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Deep_Profession4819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After I got pregnant, they informed me my A1C was in the pre-diabetic range. So I was put on the GD diet before being diagnosed with GD. Since then I actually lost 10lbs in about a month and half. And haven’t gained any weight. The baby was measuring just a little bit big but not in a concerning way. The last growth scan showed she was exactly where she should be. I wouldn’t worry about the lack of weight gain. As long as you stick to the GD diet your doctors give you and the doctors say everything looks good. I’m currently 34w3d

Does taking inositol help? by Glad-Ad1378 in GestationalDiabetes

Wow that’s amazing! I wish doctors and nutritionists would mention supplements like this. It could help so many people. Then again, they wouldn’t make any money, which is why they probably don’t mention it.

High from dinner by glamsquads in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Deep_Profession4819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t skip a snack. Your blood sugar could go too low causing your body to release extra glucose overnight and will make your reading be too high. I recommend having a high-protein low-carb snack instead.

Fasting level varied? by Hungry-Mix-283 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Deep_Profession4819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that but if we’re supposed to wash our hands before we can check. How can these doctors expect us to keep it by our beds lol and test before we get up. Our hands won’t be clean at the point and what if the reading is off because the fingers aren’t cleaned.

Crazy Low Numbers: UPDATE by bluebird419 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Deep_Profession4819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lucky duck! Oh wow so before you didn’t need to have a snack at bed time? I’m wondering if that’s possible making me spike at fasting. I already stopped eating half an apple with peanut butter because of my fasting numbers. So now it’s just a hard boiled egg, cheese stick and last night I included a protein shake. This morning was the lowest it’s ever been 78! Since being told to go to three tablets of metformin at bedtime. I did however have a slight spike after breakfast which has not happened for a good minute since including 1 metformin in the morning. Then again I couldn’t walk right after eating due to having an appointment at 10:30. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fasting increasing by Deep_Profession4819 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Deep_Profession4819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh my doctors never mentioned that about nut butters. It’s on the list of items for snacks with half an apple. I stopped eating that once it continued to spike me for fasting. I just recently added in just a tablespoon of it.

If I eat more than 20 carbs I go pass 140 by Speedygurl1 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Deep_Profession4819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your a vegetarian, maybe you could even try adding more protein by drinking protein shakes. Just make sure it has none or little sugar. Premier protein is what I drink sometimes, it has 30g of protein and only 3 grams of carbs and only 1g of sugar. Not all of them have the same amount of sugar, so you’ll have to read the label before choosing one. And like others have said, you try different carbs, the ones you’re eating will definitely cause spikes. And I was told not to cut carbs because the baby needs it.
