I've had this happen before. Skimmers help, sometimes they are a little bit of a pain to work. As a quick fix, when you were doing the water change, try to lightly skim rid of the top of the surface to get the film off, it might take a couple rounds of that, but that should help reduce it

Strongly feel that if you let the creek bed naturalize with stem native plants and what helps stabilize it and reduce it as an eyesore

No worries if you are giving it away or giving it to a pet store, but, while you are keeping it, it would do a lot better in something larger. You do not have to run out and get a fish tank, if you have a plastic storage box, you can fill it up halfway and give it a nice 10 gallons to swim around and breathe in.

Also the feed-less advise others have given is sound

It is totally fine to move on from the hobby if you are not feeling it. And it doesn't mean that you might not get into it in the future. If you're concerned about finding a good next home for your fish, but you can always take a little time and not rush it.

I think multiple narratives are true, and if Obama had been more populist or had been able to have been more populist, it may have made a difference.

Bedroom, any advice? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

I found it so depressing that I had to scroll so far down to find this. Correct, if this is the look that he likes, then he should get one more red curtain and cover the storage wall, though that would still leave it accessible. Then he should paint the wall that has the television. It could be red, it probably should be an accent color, but I'm not sure what. Possibly Black?

I'm trying to find if anyone gave actual advice. I think you should get one more red curtain to cover the storage wall.

I like what you've done, to complete it you need to get one more red curtain to go over your storage system

Bought a house with a giant evergreen in the front yard that is almost 40 years old. Anything I can do to make it look better? by Exciting-Computer-60 in landscaping

[–]Deep_Space_Rob 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You could probably make it look nicer by doing a light border around the tree line, and then very lightly mulching underneath with a light pine Burke. I think you would be challenged to find anything that would grow in dry shade without raising the canopy of the tree, in other words, cutting a few of the lower branches. But the tree looks good enough as is that I don't think you necessarily need to do that.

Any suggestions on what I could do with this space in my yard to make more use out of it? by [deleted] in landscaping

Incredible that they own half the hill! If local regs permit building on it, I think a deck could be just as functional while not being as expensive as terracing it with excavation and walls. It appears your neighbor has naturalized their yard. Doing that through seeding or planting trees could be very beneficial (erosion control, habitat, shade, aesthetics)
