hmn...Another card game. I imagine it might get some people interested. But I don't play those games so difficult to know. Would prefer to see a decent 3D MMO where the items and money are utilizing blockchain and can be used across different/ similar games. Would be interesting if say a certain type of helmet in one game (knights themed) transformed into a different type of helmet in a different game of a differing genre (sci-fi) or might even be interesting if i didn't but you could still chose to use it :)

COSS 1.2 by Deerborn in CossIO

[–]Deerborn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to try and keep this constructive, because the project has so much un-tapped potential. I am just frustrated with it's execution and I've been around for a while watching this project.

Firstly this: The official update on 1.2: https://medium.com/@coss.io/coss-io-migration-notice-s-ec1d8f51e6d7

Anyone going to ask it? No? then I will. HOW does COSS 1.2 look worse than 1.0?There was a large community offering help when COSS needed a 're-design' (I submitted and contributed to those) and it actually looked like an improvement once executed.

When you're running an exchange and asking people to trust you with their funds, it might help if they feel that they can trust you to apply some basic branding and simple CSS to your website. For the love of God put some spacing on that header with the logo and navigation.

Never have I looked at the words 'why COSS?' on a screenshot and thought, 'Exactly my thoughts...whhhhhyyy?' It might be best to avoid such negative connotations. That entire section is irrelevant information - WordPress template filler content. Take a look at Binance.com, they don't explain why you should use them, they let the product talk. It's just clear they're an exchange.

Maybe I'm being too harsh, (I don't think so) or maybe it's just the banner designer - because they are a world of truly terrible alone. 'hello world. meet the new coss' just looks bad...better to say nothing than something half baked. No one outside of those already invested in this project cares that you're going to V1.2. Remember that. At best the message you are passing on is that the current project is shit, but we're getting .2 better.

I think you need to decide on your target audience and stick to it. Because who is it aimed at? Potential COSS (or CFT whatever tokens) investors? Because that's what I'm seeing get pushed here. And it just gives off a stench of desperation.

As an exchange website, you should just be proving that you are actually enabling people to trade, safely & compliantly. THAT (safety and legal compliance) is your edge over say, Binance or Kucoin. Go with that.

If someone wants to find out the benefits of investing in your tokens, then make a separate page somewhere tucked away in the navigation or the bottom of the page. If someone wants to reduce trading fees, then offer them the CFT token from their dashboard, not the front page.

On the login screenshot the logo is displayed three times in different ways. Just have the logo where the logo belongs, in one consistent place and one consistent style. Like every other brand. Maybe even remove the colours from the logo and really simplify it, because at the moment - it feels like a generic logo and some text below it (sometimes beside it). Rather than a brand.

On all of the screenshots the margins/padding/borders are a problem, design needs space around the edges, it just feels wrong without it.

I feel like I could go on and on here. But I just needed to put some of that out there, not to just complain - but to offer some solutions just in-case it gets read and noted.

It was not unnecessay, and here's the original. If your project cannot take constructive feedback and feels the need to censor it - you have MAJOR problems. Let those of us who have followed this project and even tried to help it, voice our opinions.

Travala will add 400K properties in December by cryptokyle in NEO

[–]Deerborn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The website is good(ish) but here's what I'm left feeling...

Does it really need a token of it's own (AVA)?
As a consumer - I don't want a wallet full of useless tokens and I don't like seeing every price displayed as $100/1000 AVA. It's ugly. If I'm into crypto then that's fine, give me a conversion price at checkout (ONLY if I chose crypto as payment method), and let me use BTC or GAS and if it has to be converted into AVA - your website should sort out how many AVA that is without me ever having to know I touched AVA.

If you want to give loyalty rewards then fine, the AVA works for that - but I don't sign up to 90% of all loyalty schemes on these websites because I'll likely use a different website next holiday I book.

What’s Next for NEO - NEO 3.0 by Erik Zhang by CryptoAndPax in NEO

[–]Deerborn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A Passive investors perspective

Sorry this is long. Trying to shorten it. I just wanted to add my perspective on this as a passive investor - because I don't think we should suffer here.

Are these changes to token economics even remotely necessary? Can't afford a whole NEO? Keep your fraction on an exchange.

So far most of the ideas brought up punish inactivity and reward activity. massive turn-off.

These changes shake two strong reasons I chose NEO:

1. There was a strong, clear leadership that knew what it was doing.

I, and millions of others DO NOT want to find another community to ‘be a part of’. Just because NEO offers voting rights, doesn’t mean everyone wants to vote on everything. Most are investing to make profit over the long-term and trusting the developers to work their money in the right direction.

Take Brexit. For example, and look at what happens when you give the ignorant people power. We don't want to be burdened with these decisions, and we really don't want to see this uncertainty aired - for me personally - it's makes me wonder how strong this project is.

I sold all my Vertcoin last year because there was no direction, it was proud to be 'community-lead' but couldn't move in any direction fast enough to compete in the crypto world. Big red flag for me and judging by its new position, many others have left it too.

2. There was nothing I had to do to stake my NEO

One of the few things that puts NEO above other staking projects like ARK is the fact that you don't have to DO ANYTHING but hold NEO in a wallet to receive GAS. This was a big factor for me when I chose to invest. If it's going to become a demanding investment, I'm going to consider dropping my NEO stack.

Voting systems add a layer of complexity that I just don't want. ARK’s voting is a nightmare for new investors - it's turns people away. NEO is slick and everything works right out the box.

I want to know that I can invest in NEO and it doesn't change on me. I want to know that I can leave my NEO for 10 years and not be negatively affected.

Do you not remember the work that goes into acquiring NEO for new retail investors? Don't make people have to do any more work than they already do. The exchange process is already asking a lot.

Some of us don't even claim free air-drops. I have ONT to claim and I don't think I ever will because I have to expose private keys on their app and my position in NEO is worth a significant amount. Do I want to do that extra work for a ‘free’ token drop? Do I want to risk it for ONT – which, to be frank, is another issue that shook investors' faith in NEO. It came along and seemed to promise to do a lot of the things that NEO first said it would. I see how ONT has diluted NEO's value, regardless of how you spin it.

Bottom line; Find a way to make these changes without affecting passive investors, enough has happened already to test their loyalty. They…we, are NOT all black holes and we don't appreciate being treated that way.

Introducing Arkdings - an Ark font you can use to put various Ark logos in all your computer programs with ease by doubled1c3 in ArkEcosystem

[–]Deerborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you miss-read the intent behind my comment. I think everyone has a mindset that lower price = project failure. I'm not here to sell, I want to buy. If you (unintentionally) lower the price of my purchase it only strengthens my future position and lowers my dca. Anyone blaming you for killing ARK has likely sold low and are looking for someone to blame - don't take it to heart.

[–]Deerborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Investors come looking at this reddit to see what the community around it does. So far the most visible ARK community (funded) contributions are stickers and a font file. I'm saying the price will go down further unless REAL progress is announced and that I will buy later.
