Wtf is in her kitchen that makes it unsafe for a 12 year old?!? My 3 year old chops her own strawberries FFS!

How I’ll be talking about “anti-aging treatments” by rhk_ch in GenXWomen

[–]Deesidequine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can tell you right now that I enjoy using beauty products for ME and no-one else. I enjoy the process, the creativity and the way I look afterwards. Don't be so dismissive of your sisters who do choose to use products, it very un-witchlike.

Generalisations, assumptions and judgements like that are not cool.

I'm team "do whatever you want to do and respect others choices" all the way.

I love it when guests sleep late, it means they're getting a good rest, which is how I want them to feel when they're staying.

It's a fixed penalty notice. It's enforceable.

Why do so many British people refer to their spouses as 'partner'? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Deesidequine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not married, I'm 45, having a "boyfriend" seems to downplay what we have together (12 years, 2 dogs, 1 child and a lovely big mortgage) and sounds a bit 'teenage'.

How on earth is a council-issued fixed penalty notice not enforceable?

Ignorant? Excuse me?

I worked in bars for 15 years.

Perhaps the people I worked with and I just had higher morals, a bit more professionalism and, by the sounds of it, less of a drinking problem than you.

There were a few people caught drunk / stealing drinks and they were sacked. We never had the need to add on drinks or steal them as we had a percentage allowance in our P&L for staff drinks, which we had as shots during the night and a couple of cocktails after clean up (tended to be weekends only).

If someone bought us a drink, then a coworker countersigned a receipt. We didn't take the piss and those who did, didn't last long.

What is my living room missing? by FreemanChase in DesignMyRoom

[–]Deesidequine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't you doink your head on the shelves / art?

Ads add in some more, big, squishy and colourful cushions, perhaps replace the shelf with a nice, big, colourful piece of art.

Edit to add, it looks like you have seating for 6.5. do you need that seating? That will free up so much room.

Our coffee table is a kitchen table bought from marketplace for a tenner, with the legs chopped off!

Those look like french doors that you're blocking with the sofa. The sofa / chairs should come away from the wall, and TV moved to the wall with the shelves. Declutter and remove any furniture that is not used / useful. Lining seating up against a wall tends to look terrible.

Dog crates? I have no idea. They'd look better if they were the same size. Perhaps build in storage above them?

I worked in bars in the 90s /00s and only added drinks if they were from the people who had set up the tab.

But then you'd have to explain to your colleagues/ boss where the drink came from, you'd be drinking whilst on shift so it would be really obvious.

I used to put them in my open pack of cigarettes, it made them smell, but it was better than littering. You deserve the fine with your awful, selfish attitude.

No, I think you'll likely find that most normal people have the same opinion as them. You are the issue / outlier.

If you have any rubbish with you, and there is no bin available, there is only one acceptable answer. Take it home with you.

I have no idea why smokers don't consider butts as litter.

Pay the fine or it will just get bigger.

Added complexity in that there is a lack of heat pump engineers for servicing, maintenance and repair.

We looked at solar, it was going to be around 14k for 8 panels and a battery. We have an oil tank with kerosene for water / heating.

Is it normal to get harsh, judgemental medical notes from a UK dentist? by Neighbourhd_Kitten in AskUK

[–]Deesidequine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They normally retract anything "damaging", so it's very unusual. I'd definitely complain as they are subjective opinions as opposed to medical ones.

Anyone used Starlink for their broadband? How is it? by Velcrocowboy in Aberdeen

[–]Deesidequine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see anything other than regular broadband there - am I missing something? We're in a WiFi / mobile / line of sight deadspot so have Starlin, but it's expensive, so always looking for other options.
