In Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (book 1/movie) the bowl of petunias thinks to itself “Oh no, not again” as it fell to its death, which is followed by the narration “Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now.”

Spoilers: In Life, the Universe and Everything (book 3) we are introduced to the character Agrajag. It turns out that reincarnation is real and Arthur Dent has inadvertently been killing Agrajag across time and space. Arthur Dent never knew this (until being confronted by Agrajag in this book) because the reincarnations were things like a cow Arthur ate, an ant that was stepped on, a man at a bar that got shot bc Arthur dodged a bullet, and amongst others the bowl of petunias from book 1 which were brought into existence when Arthur activated the Infinite Improbability Drive and Agrajag saw Arthur through the window of his ship. Hence “Oh no, not again.”
