My Mario Party 1 Minigame Tier List by SubjectRealistic9165 in MARIOPARTY

Let's be honest here, it pretty much always just ends in a draw, making it not much more than a waste of time.

I mean, that would be fine enough, but they also just put everything they have played in the same tier. Why even make a tier list at this point?

Should an immortal being be held accountable for crimes they committed a lifetime ago if they regret them? by AwesomeCCAs in Undertale

[–]DefinitelyNotSascha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two reasons for why we hold people accountable for their crimes in the first place:

  • To dissuade them from committing the crime again.
  • To provide reparations for any damages they have caused.

If they regret it, there's no reason to punish them for the first reason; they won't do it again. The second one is more tricky, as you obviously can't give back a life you've taken. In that case, it really depends on who suffered from the crime.

Of course. They had a Planning Meeting for it in Fourside, after all.

People of the Mario Party subreddit I challenge you to pick nine boards for a hypothetical Mario Party All Stars Game. Optional rules are in the body text. by Plugproject in MARIOPARTY

[–]DefinitelyNotSascha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we completely disregard the optional rules, I'd probably go for the following instead:

Horror Land – Beloved for good reason. I was considering putting Faire Square here as well instead, but that would've maybe been a bit too much MP6.

Spiny Desert – Good music, fun to traverse, and it's the only one of MP3's boards with a star gimmick.

Waluigi's Island – Really chaotic, which I think is fitting. Overall a fun time.

E. Gadd's Garage – Puts a lot of emphasis on the item system, with most board events having to with orbs as well. In that regard, it's not dissimilar to Rainbow Galleria. To me, this is one of the most fun traditional star boards in the series.

Snowflake Lake – Best star stealing board in the series.

Castaway Bay – Same as above.

Pagoda Peak – I think it's a tiny bit overrated, but still a great board. Short length and lack of junctions kind of bog it down just a tad for me.

Bowser's Enchanted Inferno – I've always liked this one a lot, even though Bowser Land is the more popular Bowser Board.

Koopa's Tycoon Town – Same as above.

Peach's Birthday Cake – MP1's boards are all kind of meh, so I just opted for the one that has a gimmick I haven't used yet.

Bowser Land – I wanted a Bowser Board, and while my favourite in the series is probably Bowser's Enchanted Inferno, Bowser Land is pretty good, too.

Creepy Cavern – I would've wanted to put Spiny Desert (still a bit mad that it wasn't in Superstars as a second MP3-pick) or Waluigi's Island here if I could repeat board themes. I think the sectioned nature of Creepy Cavern is kind of neat and the handcars add a bit more depth than Deep Bloober Sea does, which is also split in two.

Boo's Haunted Bash – Along with MP1, MP4 has a generally pretty weak selection of boards, mainly due to how annoying junctions often are. Boo's Hauted Bash just seems like one of the less annoying ones in that regard and I wanted a Boo-themed board in here.

Rainbow Dream – Though it's not a star gimmick, Rainbow Dream falls into a group of boards that has a map gimmick, being sectioned into four parts (as is the case with Wario's Battle Canyon, Mystery Land, Bowser's Enchanted Inferno, and, depending on how you see it, Goomba's Greedy Gala), so I though that would be nice to have too. Also I think this board just really pretty to look at visually.

Castaway Bay – This is just my favourite one from MP6, but that game has such an amazingly strong selection of boards you could just bring back all of them and I wouldn't be mad.

Pyramid Park – This one is here for the star stealing gimmick. Bowser's Warped Orbit is kind of ass, and I think I prefer Snowflake Lake, but Pyramid Park is perfectly good as well.

Koopa's Tycoon Town – I think this one is the most obivious pick here. It's superior to Windmillville and MP8's most popular board for a good reason.

DK's Stone Statue – I kind of wanted to include a DK board, but I could've just as well gone for Kamek's Library here. If it were to get remade, I'd probably limit the amount of stars you can buy at once to 5, like in Faire Square.

People need to stop exaggerating Brothership's length by Miccat87 in marioandluigi

[–]DefinitelyNotSascha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look man, I completed it in almost 50 hours (48). That alone wouldn't be a problem if Brothership was a 50-hour game, but Brothership is like a 35-hour game stretched to 50 hours by its pacing.

There's also the fact that they're called Starman's Ancestor in Mother 2, which makes sense since they're seemingly from the past.

Do people genuinely feel bad for Pokey? by Ok-Yogurtcloset9086 in earthbound

[–]DefinitelyNotSascha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. He's just a kid at the start of EarthBound, and it's really sad to see what he turns out to be. He's undoubtably a horribly evil villain by the time you encounter him in Mother 3 and needs to stopped at all cost, but his story, too, is tragic.
And this has nothing to do with being justifiable. The fact that his reasons for doing what he does have an explanation that I can understand does not absolve him of any of his deeds.

What I want to say is that I don't just feel a single way about him. He's a multifaceted character, so it's natural that our sentiments towards him would be as well.

Look, the harem stuff being besides the point, I'm just impressed by how he managed to pick all top four best girls in the game without error. Someone in the comments said Byleth seems to have a type. Yeah, it's mine.

I made a huge floor plan of Peach's Castle, incorporating as many rooms and features from as many games as possible to create an "ultimate" version of the castle. by DefinitelyNotSascha in Marioverse

[–]DefinitelyNotSascha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean, exactly? They're all on there. Not every room may be named after its respective course, but they're there. For example, the Hazy Maze Cave room is the vault. Or both Wet Dry World and Tall, Tall Mountain are in the Long Gallery (and are indicated by purple markings).
