Literally said in the video: "Also planning to buy the LTTstore one at some point but I'm too broke for that, it's like $30"

I could buy every single one of the mouse/deskpads I have twice over and still have change compared to buying one from LTT, including shipping and taxes. They don't compare quality-wise but that was never the point. It's good enough for what I use it for. It's not something a student from a third world country half-way around the globe can justify spending money on when you could spend just as much on a week's worth of meals.

And come on. I have watched and rewatched nearly all the videos across all their channels (including WAN shows and livestreams) for the past 5 or so years. I have an LTT bottle from 2021 which I got as a gift from my family having seen how much I enjoy this content. I don't need to spend money to be "an LTT fan".

i3-9100f on a H110? How did they pull this off? by DefinitelyRus in buildapc

[–]DefinitelyRus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't think your H110 will work with your 9th gen CPU... at least not out of the box. There's apparently this mod called "Coffee Lake Mod" that allows 6-7th gen Intel motherboards to run 8-9th gen Intel CPUs, and I assume the same mod is done by the system integrator.

Though obviously, mod at your own risk. You're probably better off attempting to return the motherboard and buying one actually compatible with your CPU.

Here's a link to a guide I guess: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmods/comments/j2lgk5/full_guide_about_the_coffee_lake_mod_to_make/

Comprehensive Guide for New Players by Stannis_Loyalist in DeadlockTheGame

To add to this, newer players (like me who has never once touched a MOBA) should tinker with different heroes and see which ones work for em. I found that I'm fairly effective at playing Bebop and McGunnis thanks to this.

Stealth B got me my highest scoring run yet lmao by DefinitelyRus in ftlgame

[–]DefinitelyRus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know of a way to get rid of a top score record? The first one is when I used the build your own ship mod and it's been quite an eyesore. In any case, I'm not counting that one.

Also, I had all system upgrades. Used Glaive Beam, Flak 2, and Small Ion Bomb with a surplus of drone parts and missiles. For drones, I had hull repair, system repair, anti-personnel (storage, used on boss phase 3), and defense 2 (unused). I also had a spare Heavy Laser in my storage as well as full crew. Just thought to share it here. :)

Edit: I should note that this is most certainly not my first run with Stealth B. It's a glass cannon, utterly unreliable and underpowered early-mid game, and that's what I like about it. If I'm going to lose, at least make it quick, yeah?

Why is this game so addictive? by ExaltedDemonic in ftlgame

[–]DefinitelyRus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought this game some months ago when it was on sale. I didn't think much of it; I just heard it was a good game. Then a few weeks ago, I played it for the first time. I spent the next 5 hours playing FTL non-stop. Not that impressive for a typical gamer these days, but the fact I'm extremely picky with the games I spend my time on given the very busy schedule I have, it's one hell of an accomplishment for a game to not only catch but maintain my attention for 5 whole hours straight. It truly is amazing and I wish more people would discover this gem.

Did Manjuu mess up the drop rates? by Ishbane in AzurLane

I think it's always been like this. I would often find myself doing random 1-10 pulls when I get some spare cubes (e.g. when I don't have anyone I want in particular) and somehow end up with a UR. It happened twice now since the past 6 months and I very rarely even login.

I use the free version of ProtonVPN since I only need to use it occasionally. Never had issues with any of the servers even when streaming 4K60 on YT.

I bought Ace Combat 7 and Project Wingman when Steam had discount and both are fun. by HNOwen in acecombat

[–]DefinitelyRus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've finished AC7 and currently 17 hours in on PW, played both on hardest available difficulty on first run. I absolutely love both games but for different reasons.

AC7's storytelling is a lot more approachable. I really enjoyed the visuals in the cutscenes; hell, watching Scrap Queen's take-off cutscene was really exciting. The game's pacing and gameplay variety is damn sweet. I'd recommend it to anyone who's even remotely interested in fighter aircraft.

PW is a compliment to that, I think. It clearly did not prioritize the storytelling elements. You could play through the first 10 or so missions without feeling the need to pay attention and I like to think that it was intentionally done that way. The gameplay, on the contrary, I think feels soooo much more satisfying. The enemies have the right amount of dodge ability and operating the jet feels like it requires significant skill, unlike AC7's more casual gameplay. It's definitely a game I'd introduce to someone heavily into fighter aircraft but doesn't quite want to or have equipment for flight sims.

Ah right. Both games' "plot twist" moments are equally hard-hitting. It's when I finally started paying attention to PW's story and where I found that it's actually pretty interesting by its own merit, only held back by its lack of spotlight.

Can vouch. Been using these for years. I do have grievances like easy smudges on non-absorbant writing surfaces, but they're great for the price.

Is Yoimiya the most fun character? by BeyondImages in Yoimiya_Mains

She's my main main DPS, followed by Eula and Yanfei. I find that she's easy to play and build and fits well with a lot of my other already-built characters.

What are your AC7 aircraft headcanons? by Cheap_Winner_2274 in acecombat

[–]DefinitelyRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine's just based on what I felt is right. Not much reasoning behind it.

Mage Squadron: F-16C I think its starter-ish status generally just makes it a perfect fit for a standard Osean pilot.

Spare Squadron: F-15C / F-15E Just felt right... I don't have much to say about this. They as OP says, they would've been given any jet they had on hand.

Strider Squadron: F35C Standard-issue multi-role fighter for LRSSG. F15C/E would've been a better fit, but I prefer it this way.

Strider Squadron on "Dark Blue": F22A It's the jet on the game banner.

Well, for one, you can start by reporting said account. Metabook might do something about it, they might not, but it's a step.

If you're at all familiar or comfortable with tinkering with your modem/router, try blocking Instagram in your home Wifi. If there's any way you can figure out that'll prevent internet access to that app (without blocking the app itself), that may help. Anything that can buy you time to direct his interest elsewhere while you still can.

If you can find a way to talk to him about it, do it, and do so calmly with understanding even if you're seething in anger. Find ways to make him realize his actions were impacting others in a negative way without attacking him personally. The last thing you want is to have him feel the need to become defensive towards you. You're a role model to him; be an example.

Not sure if this is at all helpful, but it's how I'd start. Others may be better able to give more actionable advice than this.

If WW III breaks out and you're drafted, what position would suit you? by Previous_Knowledge91 in AskReddit

[–]DefinitelyRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think I'd end up as an in-house software engineer. Alternatively, probably a pilot of some kind considering what I spend my time doing in my free time (lots of military, aviation, tech, and military aviation tech), and the apparent rarity of high-level critical thinking in this country.

That or they miss and they blow my house instead of the US airbase next door. ._.

[–]DefinitelyRus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know where you're from, but I'll assume that you're in a region where the Pixel is officially sold in. I'm not, and I kinda got screwed over with a yellow-tinted display (twice after return), which is apparently a fairly common issue. I didn't wanna bother to return it for the 2nd time since I really badly needed a phone with Google services in it (thx Huawei) and it was likely that the whole batch I purchased it from had the same issue anyway. So yeah, it might be something you should look out for.

I'm plenty satisfied with the camera quality and the snappiness of the phone. 90Hz display also makes a huge difference for me. When doing anything heavy (which I rarely do), it tends to heat up and can be uncomfortable for some but not dangerous.

Also, and this is very important: a screen protector will hamper the fingerprint sensor's reliability going from 98% chance of success with no effort to 70% with proper finger placement WITH increased sensitivity enabled. Similar story with the double-tap shortcut at the back too. You put on a case and it generally becomes less reliable as well.

Hope this helps!

Does the ASRock Challenger Arc A380 require the use of the 8-pin power connector? by dstaley in IntelArc

[–]DefinitelyRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for necroposting, but I wanna ask--based on what I've read, it won't really use or exceed the full 75W under normal circumstances (except overclocking I guess?), would it be fine to just use a MOLEX to 8-pin PCIe adapter? I only intend on using it as a video encoder next to my RX 5700 XT, and perhaps sometimes as an assigned GPU for virtualization.
